What are these cramps?

Lately, a couple times a day every other day or so, I have been getting these weird cramps that come on suddenly, last a few seconds and then thats it. It's not like period cramps. Period cramps for me are throbbing and more of an ache in the cervical area for me. These are off center and sharper than a "throbbing" ache. Period cramps also last off and on all day. Not some weird cramp that happens once and goes away. Could I be pregnant? my period is anywhere from a 28-38 day cycle with an average cycle being 34 for me. I am on day 37. On day 40 I am testing, I have never had a cycle be 40 days.
