Question

Having an IUI done and wanting some opinions, comments,or advice from those who have done it. :)

Hello :) I'm 30 years old, been married for 10 years, and have no children. We have had two miscarriages and decided to seek fertility specialist help due to the amount of time between unsuccessful pregnancies. I recently found out I have a clotting disorder that causes me to miscarry and have been taking baby aspirin for a little over a month now. My husband deploys in March for a year so we decided to do an IUI this month. I'm curious if anyone has done it, had successfully conceived by it or how long it took to conceive doing an IUI. We are running out of time, and the heartbreak of month after month of not conceiving is really starting to get to me. Any advice or comments will be appreciated, thanks and God Bless!

I'm sorry you're going through this worry. Definately keep taking your baby aspirin EVERY DAY. Has the dr discussed injectables such as Clexane? It's a blood thinner and I took a low dose every day up until 12 wks with my successful pregnancy - 4 previous m/c (my bubba is lying on my lap sleeping as I type this). I had 4 rounds of IUI before moving on to IVF but my reasons for it not working were pretty obvious (scarring). You might want to ask you doctor if you can freeze sperm for you to be able to keep doing IUI while your husband is away. It doesn't cost that much and the sperm is fine once defrosted. I'm very hopeful that IUI will work for you, your ovulation is timed perfectly so that the maximum amount of sperm is actually in your uterus waiting to catch that little egg. I wish you all the best and a BFP first time round!! (IUI is expected to work within 3 cycles before considering IVF). xoxo

Thank you so much for your uplifting words! Yes I will start Lovenox when and if I get pregnant. As far as any other problems everything looks good. I had a Hyst and my uterus and tubes were fine, and my husbands tests all came back normal, this little clotting thing seems to be the problem. I really do not think I would do IVF if the IUI doesn't work. I want a child but I just have mixed feelings about the IVF and the thought of multiples scares me to death lol, especially since twins run on both mine and his side. I'm praying this works but I'm not very confident that it will work on the first try, although I read many things on here where quit a few people had success the first time. Thank you again for your uplifting response God Bless! :)
