Maybe google it and see how many calories you need to intake a day to stay your current weight and then to be the weight you want to be...then just make sure you take in that amount of calories every day. It'll be a pain at first, but once you get an idea of how much you need to be eating to gain weight, it wont be as bad.

Dairy can make you gain weight pretty quickly. Does your doctor want you to maintain a healthy diet or just go all out to gain weight? Usually they want you to remain healthy and not eat purely sugar and carbs, because that can increase your chances of gestational diabetes. Your doctor might be able to give you some ideas, like foods to eat, or cooking practices that may help you. Good luck, and congratulations!

It is normal to lose a few lbs in your 1st trimester. I lost 15 with my first pregnancy, but gained 35 back. It's not anything to worry about right now; the important thing is to eat a balanced diet. Your body will let you know when it is time to eat more and what it needs (through certain cravings). Don't deny yourself anything, but it's also important to remember not to stress yourself unnecessarily - that is more damaging to your overall well-being right now. GL!

My last pregnancy I had identical twins with a single placenta. It made me at risk for twin to twin transfusion where one twin can end up with a higher blood supply than the other. The specialist in fetal medicine and a world reknown twin to twin expert had me 1) take it easy as to not burn too many calories 2) I had to drink 3 boost high protein shakes a day in addition to healthy meals. The key to the boost was taking a big gulp every hour so all of it went directly to the babies. My boys were born at 33 wks and weighed 5.8 and 5.10 so it worked. For you it may be normal to lose a little in the beginning and you will catch up later. As long as you are eating healthy and baby is growing I wouldnt worry. I also drank banana/peanut butter protein shakes. The funny thing is I only gained 20 lbs yet the babies were big and strong.
