Temp: Which is better, same time every morning or after 3 hours sleep?

I am a very light, restless sleeper. I usually toss and turn most of the night and always have to get up to pee at least twice. Not to mention my 2 little ones who come and wake me up in the middle of the night. My consecutive 3 hours is always at random times depending on the night.

So my question is, is it better to always set an alarm and temp at the same time every morning regardless of sleep, or to wait until ive had 3 hours even if the time varies by an hour or two timewise?

For example: My 2 year old woke me up around 3:30 today. So this morning my 3 hours would have been from 4:00-7:00. But I usually take my temp at 530 because my hubby gets up for work at that time and usually wakes me up. So should I have temped at 530 or just wait until i had my 3 hours at 7:00?

My sleep cycles are crazy too. I can't take my mess bc TTC socI have a very irradic sleep schedule. I BBT and in my experience, since I have tried both methods ( one month setting an alarm to take my temp at the same tem each morning and one month after I had a min of about 3 hrs sleep) and I found that my cycle is much easier to track if I take it whatever time it is after I have gotten a few hours sleep. The times I take my BBT varies widely...anytime from 4am to noon and it's worked out where I can see when I O easily with the temp shifts. Hope this helped!
