You most likely already ovulated. 14 days is the average luteal phase (time between ovulation and your period starting). Mine is 10 days. It can be shorter than that but it's uncommon. Basically for ovulation testing you need a line as dark as or darker than the control line to have a positive

I pretty much always have a lighter line, it’s gets darker and darker a couple days before ovulation, then the test line gets darker then the control, and then it goes back down to light again within a day or 2. I wish you luck!!

Ovulation is typically 14 days before your period. I am new to it also! But the test line should be darker than the control line to be positive.
