About Me / My Trying to Conceive Story
Hello, I'm 29 and have been trying to conceive my second for almost two years now. It's been quite the roller coaster of emotions! I started out with Clomid after a year of trying naturally but after 5 failed attempts I switched to Femara and IUI which worked but ended in an early miscarriage at around 5 weeks. I've had three miscarriages in total. As of recently, we have exhausted IUI and were suggested to move to IVF. Hearing this was devastating as I really believed IUI would work and simply couldn't wrap my mind around it. Looking back, DH's counts were always quite low and never consistent so I shouldn't have been surprised right? Well, like many of you reading this in a similar situation, I was! We were quite prepared to give up if IUI didn't work but in hindsight I think we just believed it would work and IVF would never have to be a consideration. But, as our last IUI approached I felt overwhelmed with emotion and depression that we would never again have a baby and suddenly money didn't matter as much (don't get me wrong, when you're not rich it still matters!). So that was it, we got a line of credit($6000) and started the process. It was the best decision we ever made! Our first IVF worked and we got our BFP on February 5th! So far I'm living the dream and am sooo happy I didn't give up hope! I hope this inspired someone out there to do the same and if you have any questions or need info on the clinic I used in Canada(they take on many distant travellers), please don't hesitate to message me as I would love to help:)Last revised March 16, 2013
