Advice/similar situation

My husband and I are trying to conceive our second child. I had the Mirena for 5 years after our first. I got it removed August 23rd of this year and was told to use that day as the first day of my cycle. My periods were never consistent before the Mirena and I almost never had them while on it, so I've never tracked my cycle or anything. This is all new to me. I used an ovulation calculator and should've ovulated between September 2nd and the 7th. Husband and I BD on the 7th and 8th. I should be 14 DPO today (the 21st) I think? (When the ovulation calculator said to test) I got a BFN. My period was due yesterday on the 20th but I actually spotted on the 17th (thought maybe implantation) then heavy bled the 18th and 19th, then very light on the 20th. Today, nothing. I have had tender/sensitive breast, somewhat of a difference in sense of smell. I'm not sure how to track accurately now that I only had 3 days of what seemed to be a possible cycle. Chart says I'll ovulate again on the 28th of this month. Husband and I also did BD on 13th, 14th, 15th and 17th. If I'm off on my ovulation days should I wait to test two weeks after these dates too? Our first child was not planned so everything is new/different this time around.
