My uterus size is small. What should I do?

I'm a 34 years old woman, married for almost 3 years. We have been TTC since last ten months but no luck so far. Since we had no idea, we decided to visit our doctor. Last week, we went to the clinic and shared our problem with him. Since he suspected that one of us (or both) may be experiencing infertility, he performed some fertility tests. First on me, and then on my husband. Our report was okay, we both are fertile. But if we both are fertile, then why have we always failed to conceive? So our doctor referred us to a specialist to see if it has anything to do with my uterus or Fallopian tubes.

It was reported that the size of my uterus is small. According to the specialist, the normal uterus size is 7.5 cm long, 5 cm wide and 2.5 cm deep. But my uterus size is 6.5 cm x 3 cm x 2 cm. He told us that the only way to get pregnant is through IVF treatment. We've heard about IVF, but some are saying it might fail in our case. And some are saying that it may cost a lot. Money doesn't matter that much if IVF can really provide us good results. Please guide us.

You must be feeling too bad, no child after 3 years of marriage. I can truly understand your pain. You both are fertile, but still, you can't conceive just because of your small uterus. By the way, I don't think it's that small. Have you consulted with your doctor about your uterus size? Does your doctor really say it's small to have a baby? If he says it's really small and you shouldn't try to conceive. Now there's only one option left for you, surrogacy.

Since you and your husband both are fertile, surrogacy would be best for you. I'll tell you how surrogacy will work for you. I would recommend you to go with gestational surrogacy option. Through this type of surrogacy, the surrogate mother will get pregnant via the embryo (created by your eggs and his sperm). She'll carry your baby for next nine months, and then deliver it. There's no harm, risk or anything like that with surrogacy treatment. But let me tell you frankly, it might cost a lot. Generally, the surrogacy cost varies country to country.

Good luck.

My doctor and some other experts say that my uterus size is really small. But some people say that it's not that small. I would have no problem in carrying a baby. Is surrogacy the only option left for us? We also visited a few fertility clinics. They've also recommended us surrogacy. And the total cost in surrogacy would be around $80 K, but not less than that. It's a really big amount for us to pay. Some fertility experts also told us about the overseas programs for surrogacy which start from $40 K. But my doctor doesn't recommend us that. What should we do?

USA and Canada are known as the best surrogacy destination in the world. But here you may need to spend a lot of money on surrogacy, from $80 k to $120 k. If you think this amount doesn't fit your budget, you can consider some overseas program as well. There are many countries which provide surrogacy programs at an affordable cost, starts from $40 k.

One such country is Ukraine, one of the best and affordable surrogacy destinations in the world. I’ve read so much good reviews about surrogacy in Ukraine. You should contact an agency, they can help you better. Also, you can search an independent surrogate mother (private surrogacy) online.

I have no first hand experiences, but a few friends of my sis underwent IVF in Poland (Gdansk) and Czech Rep, cos of pocket friendly prices. So if you consider IVF or surrogacy, then I agree with SteveB - look at clinics abroad - Czech, Poland, Cyprus and Spain for IVF, and Russia, Ukraine and Georgia for surrogacy.

ellias - I am sorry to know your story. DO you know the reasons why IVF failed? Have you considered PGS NGS? A friend of mine, who was in the same boat, combined her treatment with PGS NGS, and got pregnant. Good luck

I would like to thank everyone here for replying me.

Last week, we contacted an agency who recommended a fertility center in Ukraine. It’s BioTexCom clinic at Kyiv. We visited their website, http://biotexcom.com. And we also talked to our doctor regarding this. He said there’s no harm in contacting the clinic. I sent an email message to the clinic, and they responded via a phone call. We’re now planning to visit the clinic within a few days. The good thing is that we don’t need visa to visit Ukraine.
