I need your advice

Hi, there. I have got some distinct problems with my health. Actually, I’ve got glomerulonephritis. It’s a serious kidney disease. I feel quite ok, but I have a high blood pressure from time to time and albumen in my urine. My GP says that I shouldn’t try to get pregnant as my kidneys may stop working during my pregnancy. She says that there might be great risks both for me and my baby during the pregnancy. She advises either to adopt or to try surrogacy. Is there anybody here who has managed to conceive and give birth to a child while having any kidney problems?

I'm sorry 2 hear that..i don't think you should go against docter orders, that sounds pretty serious and very bad for your health..i no u may want to b pregnant but risking your health AND the babies isn't worth it..getting pregnant could b fatal to u or cause fetal death..think about all the things that could go terribly horribly wrong..mayb u could try adoption, surrogacy or something along those lines..im sorry ,I will keep u in my prayers..Gods a miracle worker tho,so mayb one day u could get well and carry a baby, who knows:-)

Hi,
I can understand the desperation to have a child no matter what but do research before you start trying to see if there is a safer way. Email every specialist you know for advice and see if you can find a specialist that has advanced knowledge of your particular problem during pregnancy. Hopefully you will come across a doctor that knows a safer way for you to be pregnant.
I wish you so much luck and hope you find a way of making your dream come true!!!!!

I think you should be very cautious with your kidney issue, hun. Kidneys are supposed to be one of the most important parts of the human body. If there is a great risk both for you and your baby, you shouldn’t risk by any means. Just calm down and try to make a reasonable choice. The ladies who have written the previous posts have given you loads of good clues and tips. Take time to ponder before doing anything! At any rate, I wish you good luck!

Hi, hun! I have a tough diabetes. My glucose level is rather high and I can’t balance it for nearly one year. In addition, I have some problems with my kidneys. When I was consulting my GP and asking him about an opportunity to get pregnant, he said that, firstly, I should I balance my glucose. He also warned me about my kidneys. If you have distinct problems with them, there is always a great risk both for you and your baby. We decided to look for a surrogate as I don’t want to risk.

Hi dear! I'm sorry about your situation. In my opinion you should listen to your doctor. As girls mentioned above, kidneys play great part in human body. If you get pregnant, your kidneys will have to work for both you and your child. That would be great load for your organism. There will be high risk not only for your health and life, but for baby's as well. I have unexplained infertility. In last 6 years we had 5 cycles of ivf and 3 cycles of de ivf. Nothing gave result. All cycles failed. So my dh and I decided to turn to surrogacy. I think this option would be nice for you too. Yes, it will cost more. But think how much money you’ll have to spend for medication and treatments if something goes wrong. I hope my reply will be helpful. Good luck!

Hi, ladies! Thanks for your replies to my post! I’m extremely happy that I have met you here. My health condition makes me so mad. I hate my disease and I wish I had never had it. However, the bitter truth is that I do have it and should cope with it in some way. My hubby and I decided not to hurry up and visit more specialist before making the final decision.
P.S. GenesisMiss, do you prefer to deal with agencies or fertility clinics?

Unfortunately, we don’t have a close friend or a female relative who would agree to help us become parents. We contacted several agencies, but dealing with them seems to be a little bit risky. We’ve got interested in one fertility clinic. For us, it’s safer to deal with the reproductive clinic as we get an opportunity to book a surrogacy package. According to this package, the clinic has to find a woman who would become a surrogate mum for our future baby and would take care of her during her pregnancy and delivery. These are the things we really like about dealing with the fertility clinic. What do you think about it?

Dealing with the clinic sounds quite beneficial. However, you should also check the way they’re going to treat a surrogate. She must get all necessary things to feel comfortable during her pregnancy. The clinic should check her health regularly and provide her with all necessary medications and medical services. It would be nice if they check her lifestyle. She should drink alcohol or smoke during her pregnancy. I would check these things while choosing the clinic. At any rate, good luck in your surrogacy journey!

I quite agree with FirstStar. It’s extremely important to deal with the clinics that take a good care of a surrogate. It was the main criteria we took into consideration while looking for an appropriate fertility clinic. Frankly speaking, it took us quite a lot of time to find a suitable one. The clinic we’ve got interested in does care about the surrogate. According to the contract they offer us to sign up, the clinic is fully responsible for finding an egg donor. This should be a woman physically and psychologically ready to be fertilized, carry and give birth to the child for the intended parents. The clinic will supply this surrogate with all necessary thinks to make her feel comfortable during her pregnancy. A surrogate will get a certain sum of money monthly to pay for her living expenses. She has to visit the clinic monthly to do some health tests. For instance, she will have to do an ultrasound check. The results of this check (including, photos and videos) will be sent to us regularly. A surrogate will have to do alcohol, drug and smoke tests to see whether she leads a healthy lifestyle. The clinic will also supply a surrogate with a medical insurance. In case of a miscarriage or abortion, she will get a decent compensation. This is the way the clinic we’ve got interested in is going to treat a surrogate. What do you think about it?
