Am I pregnant or paranoid?

Well, we are probably all in the same paranoid boat, and at this point, I am not sure what symptoms are real and which I am just looking to have, so I will be as realistic as possible.

I have been pregnant before, by "accident" so I do know and recognize pregnancy symptoms. However, as I said, last time was completely unexpected so I never lived the TWW, I just tested when I was a week past due, my symptoms were just PMS-like, so I didn't think twice about it until my missed period.

My husband and I "tried" for the first time this month. We timed ovulation and all. I didn't feel anything until 5dpo, but then I felt:
- Extremely tired since the moment I woke up (just like when I was preggy)
- Super sore, sensitive, tingling nipples (and I never get that, before my period I get sore breast but not just the nipple and never tingling) and my areolas keep getting darker and smaller with a bigger tip
- I started to get very warm, my basal temperature rised for a few days

But then, by yesterday/today, by 8-9dpo, I started feeling better:
- Temperature dropped back to normal
- Nipples are def sensitive but not sooooo much (my areolas keep changing colors tho)
- My energy is as usual again

I am not sure if I am not pregnant, if its normal for symptoms come and go. Maybe it was implantation?

At this point I feel like I may not be pregnant but then I remember that I didn't feel anything different than PMS last time really.

I'm not sure if I am just looking for symptoms or its a coincidence tat I am feeling all these symptoms the month we try. And everything I felt at 5dpo is so similar to pregnancy symptoms but then again, why are they nearly gone now? Did it not attach? :(

I also keep reading people who went through the same but then no one comes back to say if they were actually pregnant or not ugh.....!!

Please let me know what you think!

Normally I have just about zero pms symptoms. With my first and only child we got pregnant on the first try, and I had symptoms starting 5dpo - I KNEW I was pregnant, my body just went totally haywire.

Since we started trying for a second kid I've had 6 cycles where my body was doing strange things, and each time I was positive I was pregnant - only to be disappointed when AF arrived. Except that several of those times AF came early - This is basically unprecedented for me, that NEVER happened to me my entire adult life.

I am still pretty darn sure that I conceived those 6 times. It feels strange to try to convince someone that I'm not crazy... my doctor didn't believe me either. I stopped trying to test, because it felt like I was literally flushing money down the toilet, and also because I had low HCg with my first pregnancy, so I kind of expect it may happen again.

In addition to early periods, I've also had periods that lasted longer than they normally do. Thus far, I've had a 5 day period my entire adult life, but here all of a sudden, I had a month when bled for 12 days, and ended up anemic. I *know* this isn't normal for me. I'm a scientist, and I try to be objective rather than emotional, but I also know my body, and I trust that most of the ladies on these forums know theirs, and can recognize things that are way out of the ordinary.

It's hypothesized that many, perhaps *most* pregnancies are unrecognized, because they end before you would normally detect them. I read all these other women listing hosts of symptoms that I had, and then be disappointed by BFNs, and I think to myself - maybe nobody is studying this. It doesn't seem like anyone has ever bothered to run a study of super early pregnancy symptoms and try to link it to blood results, I've tried to look, and didn't find anything. So maybe we aren't crazy. Maybe we conceive, but implantation fails, for whatever reason.

I know that HCg production doesn't kick off until implantation, but the fact remains that I turned into a super-smeller 5 days before I had implantation bleeding with my pregnancy. And that the same thing has happened on months when I thought I'd conceived, but didn't get a BFP. I could smell where the racoons have been on my porch, like the actual spots they walked on (and it was foul). This seemed as insane to me as it sounds. I felt like a bloodhound.

So what's causing it? Is it high progesterone? Is it something else? I don't know, but I don't think I'm crazy, and I don't think you are either.

Anyway, I think it's entirely plausible that you were feeling very early symptoms. It's also possible that they are tailing off because implantation didn't happen. :( I've felt mine tailing off some months too. But hey, maybe not - each body is different, and I keep reading that each pregnancy can be different too, so...

Anyway - I'm about 7dpo today, and while I've had symptoms this month, but they are different from what I had other months, so I'm on the fence this time around. No super smelling... but I've had horrible back and hip pain, lower abdomen cramps, some nausea, bloating and gas. It may just be because my inlaws keep making indian legume dishes :)

Keep us posted, and good luck!

I am in the same boat. I am only 4 DPO and the logical side of me knows that I can't really have symptoms this early. However, I want a baby so badly that I keep believing that the "symptoms" that I am experiencing are in fact because I am pregnant.

I am trying not to get my hopes up and be realistic about the process because it has been a very difficult process for my husband and I. We have been trying since last July and have had 1 miscarriage in that time. At the same time I want to remain positive, so that I don't completely lose all hope of ever having a baby. This constant internal argument has left me paranoid and I can relate to a lot of what you have been saying about whether or not the symptoms are real.

I look forward to hearing if people end up pregnant or not over the next couple weeks. I wish everyone the best.

So as an update - I guess i was preggo last cycle - but I would have missed had I not been annoying about testing fmu every day starting at 10 dpo. I was determined to prove to myself that I"m not crazy, no matter the wasted tests - and I guess hurray, I'm not crazy - but I'm also back to being not pregnant. I got my positive on day 28 of my cycle, and it while it wasn't a squinter, it was faint, and never got darker. I started spotting the next day, and that was that. It would have been what I considered a normal cycle length for me. Had I not been obsessing about symptoms, and testing, I would have never known.

This month I have a flu, so any symptom spotting is more or less impossible.

<feeling despirited and sick>

I have a appt with a fertility specialist next week.
