hi ladies i need some advice i had my day scan today. i had one follicle that was perfectly round even , and one that was 12. He said he does not know when my iui wil be either this weekend or on Tuesday. He said it depends on which follicle is the lead. he does not know if the 21 one is old and that is why it is perfectly round and big, or if i just responded fast this time. my question is when do i do my trigger shot? he gives no advice since he does not like them...... help

Did you have a Day1-2 scan? Usually that's the time that they detect cysts (old follicles). What CD day are you and when did you start Clomid, and how many days? In the past how big were your follicles at this CD (was clomid the same in those cycles)?

PS. I'm doing well. Getting close now, 31 weeks today. :)

It was day 11 scan. Took 250 Clomid days 3_7. Today is day 11. He said the follicle was perfectly round and mature 21 on all sides.but he did not know if it was an old follicle, since it is so big and mature all ready. He said it was ivf quality round, whatever that means......

I thought follicles dried up not stayed around

Hey, guys! We had our patient education today! My RE had me down for 100mg of Clomid, but I asked if I could be put on 50 instead, and that seems to be a go, so I'm really happy about that. (-: So we just have the Clomid and the trigger shot. We are still waiting on DH's analysis and my rubella test to come back. And they we cross our fingers that we get pg on our own this month. (-: I should ovulate maybe Sunday or Monday. (-:

My opk was negative this morning and my fertility monitor was med. Going to hold of on my trigger shot until I get a high and I get a almost dark line.

Texas do you have another ultrasound coming up soon?

Texas, If your OKP is still neg, I'd hold off too. Follicles can sometimes stick around after, but since you weren't on meds last month (or for a while), I wouldn't have expected it. I've also never heard of the shape of the follicle making a difference. Maybe Essemkay has some thoughts?

If you are only getting 1-2 follicles with 250mg of clomid, maybe it's time to switch to another medication regimen. And if your doc isn't doing a CD1-2 scan to look for cysts or doesn't support you wanting to trigger, you could look for another doc that's more supportive?

I agree. I came home form work at 4 and looked at this morning opk test and i can now see a line. i know it is not positive but at least i feel we are on the right track. I agree i feel like i should have more then one good follicle, but my dr says all he every wants is one,,,,,, I would love to change to femera or even an inject able..... I think if it does not work this time i will. I would love to go to a different doctor. i do not have much faith in this one, however i live in south texas and the only other re is in San antonio or houston. that is 3 hours away....
