Possibly pregnant after miscarriage?

Hi everyone,
On July 14th we lost a baby at 13 weeks. I was supposed to go in a month later for an IUD, but I had a positive pregnancy test. My doctor did blood work that week (August 16) and said that the blood test was negative, and whatever I was picking up was leftover from the pregnancy. The home tests slowly got lighter and lighter. However, I never had the iud put in.
I'm still thinking about having it placed, so I took a test today, and it came back with a very faint positive. Is is possible there is still HCG from last time?
