Implantation - 2 days before periods due?

Hi, me and my fiancé are trying to conceive this month and I'm now 2 days before my period from mid cycle up until today, I've had symptoms very similar to my usual menstrual symptoms, but a bit more than usual - i.e. for the last 4-5 days I've had sensitive nipples and sore breasts which I don't often have.

Today when I was hoping, I had sudden belly pain (which felt like my usual period pain), but it lasted 1-2 minutes. I didn't have any spotting or anything, which I know can be a symptom, but could this be a symptom also? I've never had this before! I did do a pregnancy test early this morning which was negative, but perhaps implantation hadn't occurred yet? I'm not sure when I ovulated either - I did try to keep track by doing the occasional test but I can't pinpoint when I did!
