going to baby showers

Hi All

Just wanted to get this off my chest. I'm going to a baby shower of one of my college friends. I"m happy for her, I really am. I just don't know why I feel so reluctant to celebrate her baby while I"m struggling to have mine. I don't reluctant is the correct term I am looking for, it's hard to explain what I'm feeling. Am I such a bad friend? Any one else feel the same.

Side note, I enjoy the excuse to go baby stuff shopping.

I think this is a really normal feeling... jealousy and envy. Both are also not healthy feelings. Once upon a time, I thought I was pregnant years ago and someone kinda close to me who had been trying, got super angry over it and threw a fit, I wasn't even pregnant, I briefly thought I may be... and really she ruined it for me. I was afraid of ever announcing if I ever did get pregnant. Little did she know, I was trying for 3 years myself. How she felt was NORMAL, how she reacted was not and I am glad to see you are not acting like that. She is no longer apart of my life and I am kinda glad because how ugly right? THAT is not normal to act like that. You are normal! Haha.

It's going to be a bit tricky to go but like I have told many people before, your time will come in someway, someday. I promise! Enjoy the life of a child and with people whom you love and love you. It'll happen for you sweetheart.

I haven't been to any of my friend's showers since my losses, and I went to my sister's only to avoid family drama. :/ It's normal not to be excited when you're struggling. And if I'm sad and hurting, and show up to their shower which is supposed to be all happy and excited, then I take attention from them. So I just don't go.

Your feelings are perfectly normal. Good for you for being strong and still showing up!
