5 weeks 4 days since miscarriage and still positive pg tests

hi everyone, I suffered a mc at 9 weeks 5 days pregnant. I have been having my hcg's checked every week since the loss. I started at a level of 20477.1 when my baby still had a heart beat of 124, this was when I first started to spot. Went in 2 days later cause I started to more than spot and we couldnt find a heart beat and level was now 19947. miscarriage happened the next day. levels then dropped to 4958 two days after then 418 a week later then to 35.5 a week and a half after that. I waited two weeks to test again an just figured it should be 0 now right? Clearblue digital says pregnant. So I go back in to have hcgs checked again the next day and it is now 11.8. So I get it takes a while for the hormone levels to drop but really the last 35.5 took 17 days to drop to 11.5. Has anyone else had this happen? Im almost 6 weeks post miscarriage now and still no period and we are wanting so badly to try again. Oh and I should also mention we also dtd more than once. I know you are suppose to wait but we just couldnt help our selves so I guess if i O'd it may be possible but I really think its more than likely just taking a while to drop.

Sorry for your loss. :(

It is possible that you're pregnant again, or also possible that there was tissue left behind after the miscarriage ( I sure hope not though!) It happened to me after my first miscarriage at 13 weeks and took like 12 weeks to fully pass. I would go again to test the level .

With my loss at 9 weeks (baby only measured 6) I didn't test the hcg down but af returned 5 weeks later. Everyone is different, but with a loss that early , it shouldn't take so long .

I hope you get some answers! *Hugs*

First of all, let me say sorry for your loss. The emotional turmoil I went through was so difficult. I had a miscarriage on March 25 (11.5. Weeks) but baby measured at 7. Bleeding lasted for 4 weeks and hgc levels reach zero by May 5th. Didn't get my period til may 17th. Had to wait at least one normal cycle. I went to pregnancy loss clinic where they told me it is quite normal for hcg levels to take a while to get to zero, especially the last 10. I had to keep going to clinc until they were at zero.
It was painful waiting. I understand the impatience and pain you must be feeling. my cousin had miscarriage only lasted one week. So some are shorter, and others last longer. I hope this helps you out. Again, sorry for your loss.

Oh I forgot to mention, clinc told me you ovulate when levels reach zero, but hard to know when that actually happens. That's why best to wait one full cycle.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Just an update. I finally got to zero and ended up getting my monthly 2 days ago. Yay!!! So I finally am starting to feel normal again and can start trying again soon. But it did take almost 8 weeks to get my cycle to start again after my miscarriage.
Again, thanks for your comments.
