Can You Get Pregnant A Day After Ovulation?

Hi! I'm new to this site. I am TTC, and was just wondering if it was possible to conceive a day after ovulation. I heard that it was possible within the 12-48 hour period, but I just want to be sure. I'm thinking of taking an ovulation test, since it's different for everyone.

It is my understanding that the egg after release is only viable 12-24 hours. The egg is released approx 12-72 hours after the detected LH surge. These number can vary of course but I think they are the most common windows of time. You can possibly conceive with intercourse 24 hours after a positive LH surge but it is cutting your time very close. Sperm matures around 10 hours after ejaculation and can survive in the female reproductive tract max 3- 6 days. For the best chance read up on 'The Fertile Window' and ensure you are having intercourse every two to three days during this time and BD before the detected LH surge. Good Luck.
