TTC after a miscarriage

I didn't think I'd be back on here for quite a while, but here I am. I lost my precious boy at 13/14 weeks. He was healthy and there was no sign of trouble until right before it happened. Apparently an incompetent cervix.

While I know it will take time to heal from this, I want to ttc again as soon as possible. My husband and I are so excited about having babies and raising up a family.

I'm looking for other women who are also on a similar journey, so we can support one another and share stories. Or if you've already been through this in the past, I'd like to talk to you too. :)

My husband and I had NO problem with conceiving this first child, so I hope that will be true with the next. I know you can ovulate as soon as two weeks after miscarriage, and I plan to try again then.

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss, hugs.

My husband and I just lost our first baby a week ago, I was 10 weeks along. The feeling of loss is overwhelming, there is void in my life now, I just want my baby back. It was a missed miscarriage, the baby had actually passed at 6 weeks, but it took 4 weeks for my body to catch on. I miscarried naturally.

I am still spotting/bleeding for the 9th day now, but I decided to start tracking my temp again. We want to ttc as soon as possible too. I am 39 and our time is precious! I know that becoming pregnant again won't replace the baby we've lost, but it will be a wonderful blessing and add joy to our lives again. So I do understand your urgency, I'm right there with you! I am debating on letting my body adjust for one cycle, or jumping right into it. My only fear is that my uterine lining won't be built up enough if we do it too soon and we conceive.

I wish you lots of love, luck and support on your next journey - and success for a happy, healthy baby!

Thanks for all your replies ladies. And sorry for your losses. :(

I tested this morning and it was very positive. I don't know if I expected it to be completely negative, but maybe faint. :/ I'm so ready to start trying again but I guess my body just isn't!

How long did it take for your hcg to go down?

I feel so sad and so lost. Things were starting to get better, but now the days are just rough. It's been ten days and I thought the bleeding would be done by now but its not. :( I'm sore and tired and don't feel like moving. When does it get better? I'm so ready to start trying again. I just wish my body would get on board.

I'm in the same boat. I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage at 7/8 weeks mid-Sept. D&C followed Oct 1 (my body apparently didn't want to recognize the embryo had died). I never tracked my hcg levels back to zero. My doc recommended waiting a full cycle before trying again. When I told him we were anxious to hurry it along (I'm 40), he said I would prob ovulate 2 wks after the D&C and we could try then. There would be no contraindications for trying again so early. They just prefer u wait an entire cycle to make dating easier. But ultrasounds are so sensitive, they can date accurately using that.
So fast forward. I'm 3 wks and 4 days post- D&C. I think I ovulated around the 15th (I felt it). I don't know if the faint positives I'm seeing now on the Wondfo strips are leftover hcg or new pregnancy hcg. So I guess I'll just repeatedly test and see if they're getting darker by the day.
The good news is we got pregnant the first month we tried. So my doc thinks we shouldn't have trouble again. Hope the faint positives on the strips are true positives.
I love this site. It's so nice to meet women that are in the same situation and can provide support.
Btw I spotted for 10 days and then abruptly stopped. That's the day I noticed the EWCM. So don't be dismayed ab bleeding. It stops and then u might ovulate :) Good luck. I'm so sorry for for everyone here who has lost a baby.

Thanks so much for your response! I was just feeling so down yesterday but I'm doing a lot better today. :)

I'm so sorry for your loss. But I'm glad you might have some positive news! Please keep me updated. :)

And thanks for the encouragement. I'm really really hoping the bleeding stops and I ovulate in the next couple of days. I'm going to test in the morning to see if my hcg has gone down. Last time I tested the line was still pretty dark.

Glad you're feeling better. It's such a hard thing to go through. But don't worry. The bleeding will stop and you'll get pregnant again. I'm sure of it.
Keep me posted. Fingers crossed for u :)

So it's been three weeks. Last week I got my hcg checked and it was 300. Got it checked again today and should find out the results tomorrow when I see my doctor. Hoping also to find out what may have caused the miscarriage. I know there's not always an an answer, but anything I can find out will make me feel better about trying again. I know I have fibroids, but not sure yet if that had any affect on things. I also know I have low vitamin d. I have been reading and lots of places says that could be linked to miscarriage, but probably not cause it on its own. I don't know, so much to find out/think about

Just hoping my doctor says everything is okay to start ttc again. I have been feeling mostly better, but not quite back to normal. We'll see. :)

Hi again tcinks - and everyone else here that had a m/c, this certainly is a hard journey isn't it? I am right in the same boat as you, it was 3 wks yesterday since my m/c and I'm waiting for any signs of ovulation, anything at all! The spotting finally stopped a few days ago, now I'm just dry like the desert (sorry tmi). I've been temping, which shows no signs of O, and I'm not even wasting my money on opk's until things even out more.

I, too, asked my doc why I m/c. She said it's 99% because the cells didn't divide perfectly and there was a defect in the embryo. Not our fault, just happens. Not much comfort though :(.

I have taken 3 hpt's since the m/c and all three were +, but the last one (last week) was so faint I could barely see that second line. Never thought I'd be hoping for a negative test! I plan on taking one again tomorrow a.m. and I feel like it will be negative this time. I have no idea when I will O again, I just bought some fertility tea and thought maybe that would help kick things into gear. This is so frustrating, all this waiting and waiting and time just keeps passing!!!
