Doctor suggested Duphaston tablet from 4th day(cycle)

Hello every one, would want to know more about this tablet duphaston 10 mg, i have irregular periods, but now,its coming every 40 days, or before, but dates, still ab normal, i got my last period on 14th october 2014,i went to doctor, she asked me to do a estrodial blood test, i did, iam 32 years,i went with reports on 17th october,4th day of my cycle,reports stated:Estrodial(E2):43.73,and DHEAs:205, she suggested me to take Duphaston 10 mg for the next five days,morning and evening, i want to know,is this given for me to become pregnant or to get my next period on time,please advice,
