Is a High Antral Follicle count bad? My Doctor counted 51.

I just got back from a consultation for IVF ( I recently had an ectopic and lost my right tube..left tube has a defect) and my doctor did a vaginal ultrasound and counted 51 eggs. I keep reading this could indicate PCOS. I was just wondering if anyone else had ever heard of that many eggs?

You posted 3 weeks ago, so probably you have some answers now. But yes, that does sound a lot and could point to PCOS. Not something I know about personally, but I have heard of some success at regulating hormones through black cohosh (herbal tincture), acupuncture or doctors using medication. You might want to go to a naturopath or nutritionist for advice. Best of luck. (I have the opposite problem. My AFC showed 2 super tiny follies.)

5 years TTC. Endometriosis and adenomyosis. Surgery. 2 IVFs. No joy. Low ovarian reserve. Is there any real hope? DE IVF = next step. Much higher success rates, but so used to things not working, it's hard to feel too hopeful. Wishing others an easier time.
