Cycle start date change if AF late? Does spotting count AF?

We're TTC #1 and my cycle is 28 days. This cycle, I got a boatload of BFN's and when I started AF yesterday AM I wasn't surprised. However, AF didn't really start like she normally does. I had a little bit of brown/red on the tampon (sorry for TMI!) and then put a new one in when I went to bed and woke up with nothing on it, not even a speck of red or pink or anything. So, today at 15dpo, I POAS and got a BFN.

If AF comes a week late, I still start my cycle count that day, right? I'm thrown off with this spotting when AF is supposed to come and then nothing...

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks :)

I believe that your Day 1 would be your first day of flow (not spotting) - regardless of how late it is. Good luck!
