What's going on?

Hi,

I took an HPT on Tuesday and Wednesday (9dpo and 10dpo- super early, I know) and had a very faint positive on both. Yesterday and today, 11dpo and 12dpo, no line- both were negative. I had some brownish discharge last night and am spotting a little bit today.

My period is due Sunday, so I guess I just have to wait and see what happens, but any idea why or how I would get a positive and now a negative?? Does that mean a chemical pregnancy and now it's gone, hence the spotting?
