Looking for ladies in their 40's TTC

Hello :)
I was wondering if they are any ladies out there in their 40's ttc. Please add me as a friend and we can support each other along the way.
I'm trying for another child but have had a few losses along the way but not ready to give up just yet, not while I know they're still some eggs just waiting to be caught!
and to every single one of you out there!

Hi Ladies,

First of all, I will turn 46 on Monday. If that doesn't give you hope, I don't know what does.

Next appointment is Thursday for another ultrasound. It's still early, but we are looking for an inner membrane separating the twins. Right now all that is visible is an outer membrane. This membrane can be notoriously difficult to spot.

Sooo, a little funny story. I work for a big company. I mean BIG, and one division is a leading manufacturer of women's health ultrasound equipment. So I figured out who the national business leader is down to my regional and local sales managers. I wanted to find out who had the best ultrasound equipment in my area, and who had a really good reputation for knowing how to use it. When I told the regional guy why I was asking, he said "believe it of not, I've been asked this question before. That's not so weird." In the end I got some great intel on who has what down to names of some of the top techs. Makes me feel good that I could gently push my RE to refer me to a specialist if we aren't finding this membrane during what I understand are a couple really good windows to spot it.

When I told my husband what I did, he just shook his head and laughed. Oh well.

Happy weekend (and BDing?) to all!

Busterdogs.....glad everything is going well! And yes, having a great ultrasound person is key!! I was thankful for the one tech that went the extra mile with one of my sons ultrasounds and found he had a Diaphragmatic Hernia while I was 7 months pregnant!! Otherwise, the doctors would not have known at birth. But since they knew, the surgeon was there ready to go!

afm... I'm not 20-21dpo and cycle day 30 when my normal is 25-26 days. My normal LP is 14 days!! And guess what... I have bfn's up to 18dpo!! I'm NEVER late for AF. I feel pregnant and I can't imagine I'm not at this point. I wish something would happen... AF or BFP b/c this limbo stuff is torcher!! I've been reading hundreds of stories of women who dont know positives on HPT so hoping that's the case.

SydneyNat, I'm happy that you are getting someone with professional skills to be there to help you process all of this.

Angelgirldel, I'm doing fine, just trying to figure out when to wean off most of my vitamins/supplement meal, lol.

Newlife2015, a pregnancy test should surely give you an answer around 14 days after your ovulation, but don't count pregnancy out until AF arrives! We're happy you're here, too.

Busterdogs, 46? Yaaaayy!! B/c of your earlier comment, every time you write "membrane" I think of that insane in the membrane song. on the ultrasound. Keep us posted.

Ctymom, Just a few more days and you'll have your answer. Hopefully it's a !

AFM, I just have mildly sore nipples. Trying to stay busy during this TWW. I hope I can hold off testing until 14dpo, but I did buy a pack of Wondfo, so I'll probably be POAS from 9dpo onwards. . Question for all: Do most of you wean off supplements around ovulation or when you get your BFP?

Hi everyone. I have been quietly watching this forum because I am new to this and I think it would be easier to follow if I were using my computer instead of the phone. I am the one who is 43 and tried soy isoflavones for the first time this month. I am on cd20 and crossing my fingers. I feel very different this time. I have had cramps, sore full breasts, everything smells stronger, nausea in fact this am I actually threw up. I have loads of creamy white cm where normally after O I have none. I am dying to test but I know it is too early. I am praying and praying for us all. I will keep updating.

Hi Positively praying. Welcome to the group! We're the same age and almost at the same time in our cycle. I'm on CD 19 & just have sore nipples mainly.. You have some good symptoms. It's good you have good CM after SI. I loved the fact that they regulated my cycle (28 days for the 1st time!), but found them to dry my CM. Let's support each other. I'll be looking for your updates.

Busterdogs - twins? How absolutely awesome! Now that's news my dh would LOVE!! LOL That was a funny story about the ultrasound info. Way to go! It never hurts to ask. I hope and pray that you get good news at your next appointment.

SydneyNat - I'm so happy to hear you dp wants to go to the counselor with you. Nothing, but positivity for you there honey!! That is a blessing!!

Postivelypraying - welcome! They seem like all good signs! Praying for a bfp for you honey!

Eat2nourish - we are about the same also... I'm on cd20 today and 7 dpo.

Watching for signs of implantation.... anxiously watching. Have sore bbs and have been weepy the past few days, but those are also side effects for my progesterone. We shall see. I'm hoping to go to my doctor appointment next Thursday with a BFP (plan to test on Sunday the 14th)!!

Hey BabyAngelG! Do you recall that we are cycle buddies? I am on CD20. Had my IUI on Aug. 30th, so i am 9 DPO. I also am anxiously awaiting for any implantation/pregnancy signs (so much so that I think I am self creating Phantom symptoms - faint "pings" in my bbs created by my mind and not by my body if you know what I mean, and I also am on progesterone)! Good luck to you holding out until Sunday the 14th to test! I will be trying NOT to test any earlier than Thursday the 11th. Even though I should be waiting until Sunday the 13th (two weeks post iui) like my RE's clinic says.

I also was told recently that my blood test shows I have low Protein S (which is believed to cause clotting and consequently miscarriages) and now have to give myself Heparin shots 2X a day! I have bruises all over my abdomen from it and it is only going to get worse as I continue to give myself shots every day...

Busterdogs - Congratulations on your twins!!!! That is so awesome and exciting! So the U/S shows they could be monoamniotic? I wish you the best. You mentioned your pregnancy was with donor eggs? You give me hope! I will be trying that eventually if I can't get my own eggs to cooperate soon! Please keep us updated on your pregancy.

Hello to all you other ladies! I hope to hear of more s from you all soon!

Hello everyone.

I see lots of positive vibes and baby dust flying around today so that's great!

I started my second round of OV tracking at the clinic this morning, then I had an appointment, which DP came to with me, with my fertility doctor.

She was pragmatic, but not overly positive. She said the chances at 43 are 5 per cent and that it could take two years. Pffft!

She also agreed that lots of women do fall pregnant in their 40s.

She suggested after three rounds of ovulation tracking we would need to look at further options.

Anyhow, I left the appointment and came back to work and the clinic rang with this morning's results. I'm going to be ovulating around the next few days - which is interesting because AF came last Wednesday. It appears my ovulation this month, and last month is around 7 or 8 days into my cycle. My mother conceived my brother on day 7 of her cycle. Being a catholic, her and dad were using some charting method. They thought they were good to do the BD that night and boom, suddenly they were with child!

I've been trying since March and if I always ovulate around this point of my cycle, it's no wonder I'm not pregnant yet. I haven't been doing the BD at the correct times.

But the best part of this phone call is my oestrogen levels are high enough that it indicates I probably have a mature egg on the way.

The nurse said a mature egg is a very good thing!

Fingers crossed this is my month! I swear the acupuncture is helping. My cousin used the same guy and got pregnant after two months - with severe endometriosis.

DP and I have decided to not buy into the negativity of the fertility stats for 'people our age' and just remain positive.

I also have the appointment tomorrow with the counsellor to talk about the other issue. I'm slowly coming to terms with it though. Last week was a really emotional one - I guess because I found out the sex of the impending baby. Somehow it made it more real.

Even if I don't get my baby, I'm going to love his little girl as if she were my own.

Baby dust to each and every one of you. xoxoxoxox

karamyl - Oh my.... I did forget we were cycyle buddies! My bad! I know what you mean about possible 'phantom symptoms'. I swear I've felt twinges yesterday and today, but I think it's worse 'knowing' that implantation would occur around this time. My mood is better today, but woke up with a headache (another wonderful side effect of progesterone). Maybe it's a good thing? Ouchy news about your Heparin shots. You poor thing! I hope with all my heart it results in a bfp and sticky baby for you!!

SydneyNat - it is so good to hear the positivity in your post. It sounds like things are going well for you... personally and in spirit. I agree to not let the negativitiy about over 40 ttc get to us. Hey, I recently heard of a local woman in her 50's who found out she's pregnant. Imagine that!!!

Good luck this cycle for you ladies!
