Confusing pregnancy test

Hi, I took a Family Dollar pregnancy test a few days ago and it was negative because it was way too early to test. I took another one today and the results were a bit confusing. The test says that one vertical line in the control window means negative and one line in the control windown and one line in the results window means positive. So after I tested, I got one vertical line in the control window and a horizontal line in the results window. The line is not supposed to show up horizontal. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is the test invalid?

Maybe you should try testing again

I got the same result! I could have posted this myself. I would say to retest with a different brand. I also used a Family Dollar test. I called the consumer help line on the test and the answer was that it was negative and the horizontal lines are prepainted on. I think that was Monday when I tested last.

My hope was that someone inserted the test strip the wrong way! Hopefully we will get some answers soon. It would be great if it was a BFP!
