Fingers Crossed for January 2015 babies!

Hello ladies!

I didn't see a new January board so I created one. If there is one already created, feel free to post the link in a comment.

I'm 27 and my DH is 28. We have been married for three and a half years and are trying for our first baby. This cycle will mark 2 years for us ttc. We went through 6 unsuccessful rounds of clomid and have suffered through 2 chemical pregnancies and an early miscarriage. His semen analysis came out perfectly and all of my bloodwork and ultrasounds have come out normally. My doctor thinks it might be a blood clotting issue, but unfortunately my insurance won't cover the tests I need to test for that until I have 3 DOCUMENTED losses. Only 2 of my losses have been documented. So, I'm just taking a low dose aspirin and hoping for the best. Getting that BFP is a great feeling, but it's pointless if I can't STAY pregnant.

In addition to taking a low dose aspirin, I'm also taking a prenatal vitamin and evening primrose oil. I'm also going to give immune suppression control another shot this cycle, which goes something like this:

Starting at 3 DPO:
Morning: 1 Claritin and 1 Pepcid
Evening: 1 Benadryl and 1 Pepcid

I haven't been charting for several months now, but if I don't get pregnant this cycle, I'm going to start again next cycle. I have not had much luck with OPKs, but I may give them another shot too.

So, what about you ladies? Is this your first baby you are trying for? What have you tried? I love to hear everyone's stories!

Fingers crossed and baby dust for January 2015 babies!

Hello!

Great idea - I'm new to this community and haven't seen a January board either...

I know what you mean about a BFP not meaning anything unless you can stay pregnant... historically we have not had any issues conceiving, it's just that something happens around the 6-7 week mark...

I'm 31, my DH is 34. We've had a rocky start to starting our family. Since last April, I've had 2 missed miscarriages (where we lost the baby and I didn't have any symptoms for weeks. They are heartbreaking as you think everything is going well until you go in for a dating ultrasound only to discover that your LO has been gone for some time). After each MMC, I had a D&C. We were referred to a fertility clinic after the second loss (my family doctor is FABULOUS and sent us after 2 instead of the usual 3 given the circumstances). While we haven't gotten any definitive answers, I was diagnosed as slightly hypothyroid and am now taking synthroid. My FSH is also slightly elevated so I've been taking Coenzyme Q10 to improve my egg quality. They also found extensive scarring in my uterus from one of the D&C's (which I am told is an extremely rare complication after a MMC), which was removed by operative hysteroscopy in March.

Since we have no issues concieving, they didn't even test my DH for issues. And the major likely cause of our losses - chromosomal - isn't covered by insurance until after 3 losses.

We're now TTC again and this is our first cycle. My period is due on Friday, but I have been testing obsessively for about a week (crazy, I know). I've been having a lot of symptoms - sore breasts and nipples, vivid dreams, fatigue.... - which I did not have with either previous pregnancy. Yesterday I *think* I saw a faint pink line on a test (I did post a picture if anyone wants to take a look!), but I've tested three times since and they were all negative. I'm not planning on taking another test until after the weekend (if AF doesn't show up, that is!)

So that's our story!

I'm currently taking a very low dose synthroid, coenzyme Q10, a prenatal vitamin, and 4 Folic Acid vitamins a day (this was the recommendation of our fertility specialist).

Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed and baby dust for January 2015 babies!

Hey!

There is one started, but it is pretty big already. A smaller, more cozy one may be nice ;)

We started TTC in January after a cancer scare, then quickly became overwhelmed and adopted more of a NTNP style. I still like to get to know my cycles (regular), but we don't stress the BD timing as much...

The past 2 months I used an OPK, I got a positive on CD 13, soreness on CD14, and period CD 28. This seems to be my norm. THIS month, I got a positive on CD 10, negative on 11, and another positive on 12. No soreness, tested in the afternoon, CM was good for like a week (I was taking mucinex), I don't temp. I"m thinking (hoping) 12 or 13? We BD on CD 12...

Extended story: I went to my OBGYN on CD 7 and she said that I had a small cyst. Wasn't concerned, and even said that I'd probably be ovulating soon. I was like "crazy lady!", but would't you know I got that positive on CD 10! o_O

I have been taking a half dose of prenatal and omega 3 for years just because. We tried pressed in Jan, but DH complained about the smell I switched to mucinex (guaifenesin) if it looks like my CM is too thick just to make sure.

Good Luck ladies!

@Scooby:

I just checked out your page and I love your dogs! :) We have a GSP - part time bird dog, part time couch potato.

My husband was also in the military - Army for 2 years. Now he is finishing up an accounting degree. I have been teaching middle school science and coaching vball, bball, and track for 5 years. Busy busy!

I have heard good things about taking baby asprin during the luetal phase to help prevent early MCs. I hope it works for you.

Hi Ladies!

I am 37 and DH is 38. Been married since 2011. I am on my 14th cycle of TTC and on CD 10. I only once saw a slight BFP but then I got AF 2 days later. DH has 2 kids from a previous marriage and I am still trying and wanting my own LO. If I get pregnant this month I will be due January 26, 2015.

We started seeing a Fertility Specialist in Nov 2013 and I had my blood tested and everything came back fine. DH had a SA done and there was an infection that caused low sperm count and poor motility. So he and I were both put on antibiotics for 3 weeks 2X a day. Thankfully that worked because after his next SA he came back normal. I had an HSG done in early Feb and it came back clear. So the doctor told us to keep trying for 3 months and if nothing happens then we will schedule a Laparoscopy. That was supposed to happen on Monday but Friday I got a call that the doctor had to cancel because he had an emergency. So it is now rescheduled for the day after Memorial Day. Hopefully, FX'd, I get pregnant this month and don't need it.

I am taking regularly...
Morning: Baby Aspirin and Claritin
Evening: Prenatal Vitamin, Omega 3, Vitamin D-3

Sometimes throughout the day when I am thinking about it I drink... FertiliTea, Pregnancy Tea, or Grapefruit juice.

I was told to continue taking baby aspirin because I had a blood clot 7 years ago. But after having lots of blood tests done early last year (before seeing the fertility specialist but after my annual exam...during which we discussed starting a family) it was discovered that the clots were just flukes. But I will be put on a low dose blood thinner shot when I become pregnant.

Cosmo - Sorry about your losses. That first loss was a really hard one for me. After that, all the slight positives I've gotten I've treated as negatives so I won't be disappointed when AF comes. Well, I'm still disappointed, but at least I'm not devastated.
I'm glad you had good luck with your specialist. The one my OB/GYN referred me to only wanted to take my money. He insisted that the next step was an IUI even though we had no trouble GETTING pregnant. He refused to run any tests.
Insurance is a witch, isn't it? I hope AF doesn't show her ugly face!

nicole - I saw the other board after I started this one. I missed it because it was in another category. If anyone wants to see it, it's here: http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/forum/post.php?postid=51405. But you are right, I am digging this cozy board.
I'm sorry to hear about the cancer scare! I had a problem with precancerous cells in my cervix about 5 years ago, but I had cryosurgery to get rid of them and have been clear ever since. Nothing serious.
Positive OPK at CD 10?! That's crazy. Mine ranges all over the place, but I don't think mine has ever come that early.
I love dogs! My sweet furry babies keep me sane through all this!
I did 6 years in the Air force and am currently in my 2 year inactive reserve period (done in August). I've got about a year left on my biology degree. Slightly panicked about what to do with it once I have it, haha. DH is a mechanical engineer at Emerson. He is totally brilliant and personable at the same time. He is very much a country boy and can fix anything. He's pretty amazing!

pbc - It is nice to see a familiar face too! Sorry you are still here, but it seems 95% of the women that were here when I joined are gone! I am thrilled for them though. Hopefully we can join them soon! What have you been up to? I kind of had a hiatus after my miscarriage right before Christmas. It was pretty rough.

Lolo - I hope you get your BFP before your appointment for your laparoscopy! Glad those clots were just a fluke and not something to be too concerned about in the future (apart from having to be put on blood thinners).

Hi Ladies,

I'm on CD 10 and if I get pregnant this month I would be due around Jan. 26th.

My husband and I have been trying on and off since we first got unexpectedly pregnant in Oct. of 2012. We have had three early miscarriages (two were missed miscarriages).

I'm trying to remain optimistic but at times it has been very hard. Everyone keeps telling me that I should be very grateful that we can get pregnant without any problems.

Here's hoping that this will be our month and that we will have a healthy baby in January.

Welcome Helly!

@Scooby- it sounds like our DHs are very similar! Mine too is a country boy who is quite the handyman. He had a scare with melanoma, probably from years of manual labor outdoors.. Thankfully, it was able to be removed and had not spread to the lymph nodes. He's being closely monitored at the VA for the next few years. Kind if put a few things in perspective for us. Thank you for your service btw.

for everyone!

I'm trying my hardest not to symptom spot and not to test until after AF, which would be sometime between Sunday and Tuesday. Can't wait!

Scooby - yeah none of the people I was in forums with are on here anymore, either pregnant or not trying, but most pregnant. I'm just trying to work on getting healthy before trying IUI. I don't have the funds to really do more than 1 so I want to give myself the best chance. Almost 2 years on this site and three years trying! To say I'm frustrated and over it are understatements but I am trying to be optimistic.
