Endometriosis, post cauterizing success?

Hello ladies.

I recently went into my specialist and she has suggested I go for an endometriosis test. In the procedure if they see there is something there they cauterize it.

My question is 2 things:
1. Is it a painful procedure
2. Was it ultimately successful in TTC

I have a while to go before I even get a date to see the new specialist. I would like to make informed decisions. Any help is welcome

I should give a little back story.

DH and I have been TTC for 2 yrs now and in that time we had 1 chemical pregnancy. Also we have been going to a fertility clinic in town.

We were recently referred to one of the other drs in the clinic, a woman and she asked me if I had ever been tested for endometriosis. I said no. So she is going to have me scheduled in for the procedure.

She made mention in that meeting of a study done a while ago and only one time of the effect of endo and the pregnancy rate post cauterization. In that study the number of pregnancies were significant she said. But the study was only done one time.

I am hoping to connect with any women that might have been through this before.
