Conceiving with PCOS
Hi everyone......
I am waiting for a scan and bloods to confirm that I have pcos.Â
For the ladies who also have it, how did you improve your chance to conceive? Did you take anything or do anything differently?Â
All info would be much appreciated thank you x

Hi there. I have mild PCOS. Normally what they recommend for improving fertility if you have PCOS is to lose weight. Unfortunately I am the slim kind of PCOS and actually border on underweight sometimes! After a year of trying without success we went to see a specialist and they put me onto clomid. I had 7 cycles of that. I did get pregnant once before the clomid but miscarried at 10 weeks. Now we are waiting for IVF as we found we have a male factor as well (didn't when previous tests were done!!).
Basically with PCOS the problem for fertility is ovulation. I would recommend you start charting your BBT (if you aren't already) so you know when you have ovulated. Combine it with OPKs to get an idea of when you are about to ovulate. Charting cm is actually a really good way of telling if you are fertile too. If you are ovulating then you can get pregnant. If you aren't ovulating then clomid (or other drugs) can make you ovulate. The more often you ovulate in a year the better your chance of pregnancy :)

Hi ladies,
I hope you don't mind if I follow this chat. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, I have pretty much all symptoms except that I get AF regularly and I ovulate every month. I had an internal ultrasound done on 2/3 that showed I had cysts on my ovaries and according to my bloodwork my levels are slightly off (but I had them done on CD20, when you're supposed to get blood work done on CD3 - so I'm having mine redone on CD3 of my next cycle). My dr. also scheduled me for an HSG scan (to see if my tubes are clear or blocked) and my husband has to have a sperm analysis done before my next appt on 3/19. My dr. also wants me to lose 10 lbs by that appt.
I recently learned that women with PCOS can test + on an opk but in fact not ovulate due to hormone imbalances, so charting your BBT would be best to confirm you have ovulated. I am currently 5'6" and 180 and my dr. just put me on a weight loss drug called Adipex to help me lose weight.
I would like to know women that have gotten pregnant while having PCOS and what they did to get pregnant. I think for me the #1 factor will be to lose weight.
