November IVF buddies

Hi,

I'm doing my first IVF this November. I don't normally post on here but if there was ever a time to reach out it is now.

Anybody else?

Hi All!! I have just read through most of this forum just today and have been so touched by it. My husband and I have only been struggling with infertility for a year now. We are both 26. I have stage one Endo which the doc isn't concerned about and my husband has extremely low sperm count which is our main issue. We are shooting for our first round of IVF this November/starting BCP and injections in October. Seems so far away! It's hard to think about much else...

mnor0406 - I am SO excited to hear your results!! You have been so strong through all of your journey and it is so encouraging to hear your story. I'm pulling for you!! So great to hear that one was already hatching!!! :) :)

Mrs. Fridley - I know this is super late but CONGRATULATIONS!!! :) :) I bet you have the cutest baby bump about now... :)

Thanks ladies for being so vulnerable and willing to be a support system for others. It really is a beautiful thing. :)

HELLO GRACE!!!! And welcome!!!

I remembered that MNOR might be testing today so I checked on here for results and found your touching post. I'm away all week on business and am not as in touch with technology.

I think this is an incredibly supportive and informative thread, and we welcome friendly and kind people.

Let us know how we may help you on your journey!!! Do you know what your protocol will be?

And MNOR, I'm biting my nails in anticipation!!!

Hi, Ladies -- Just a quick update from me. I've been taking my estrace. Start progesterone shots tomorrow. I think I'd be less nervous if I was administering them myself. Transfer Monday, should everything go as planned!

Mrs. Fridley - Thank you for being SO welcoming!!! I always get a bit nervous about joining threads...I just don't want to mess up the closeness of a group!! And it very much seems like this group has a special bond. :) So thank you again...it means a lot!!! How is your pregnancy going?? I hope smoothly!! I bet you are getting more and more excited everyday to meet your little one!

We are in the super beginning stages of planning all of this out. We met with our fertility specialist about 2 weeks ago and he said we need to come into town (we have to travel about 2.5 hours to the clinic) sometime to do an IVF training and trial transfer. So we are looking at doing that either early August or sometime in September. I don't want to do it too soon because then I might forget all the details I need to know by the time October/Nov. rolls around and we actually start the process! We are SO thrilled though!! It feels so good to just have a plan and have some hope again! :)

ssurra - That's SO exciting you might be having your transfter on Monday!!! Less than one week now!!! You're almost there! :)

Welcome grace! By all means join in! The more the merrier! My DH also had a very low count but I have PCOS on top of that as well. It feels great to have a plan to actually feel like you are actively doing something to get closer to having a baby. I wish you the best of luck in your coming IVF journey. There are lots of up and downs and it helps to have people to talk to who are going through the same thing. Keep us posted!

And for the hpt news...BFN! I am only 4dpt and this is the first day that women report even a possibility of a faint positive and those women normally end up having multiples. The most likely days for a bfp are 6-8dpt so I have a quite a ways to go before I can think I am out. I was really hoping for that super early positive but I will test again tomorrow!

Thanks, mnor!!:) I'm sorry about your BFN...4dpt seems so early though!! That's super encouraging to know that most women get their BFP's at 6-8dpt...plenty of time to get a BFP! How are you feeling?? I got so excited for you when you said on a previous post that one was already hatching!! Eeek!! :) :) I am so pulling for you!!

I think one of the hardest parts of infertility for me thus far has just been the isolation of it. No one knows except for my parents and two of my best friends. I find myself not wanting to tell people because 1) I really don't want their pity "i feel so sorry for you"...it just really isn't helpful and 2) A lot of times they just can't relate or understand so all it is is frustrating and you feel more alone. So I really find most of my support and encouragement through places just like this! It's comforting to know that you're not alone and other women are walking right along side of you on their own journey! It really is a beautiful thing...

I've learned so much from you all already just reading through all of your posts about going through the process of IVF! There are SO many little details that go into it and it's so helpful to have a place to learn and ask questions. :)

And the hpt is still negative. Having lots of symptoms though. The wait continues...

MNOR - Keep the hope alive! What are your symptoms?

Tonight we start the progesterone shots -- Any tips? I've mastered the subcutaneous shots of course, but these are intramuscular in my bum, and my husband will be doing them.

Hi all,

Finally had a few minutes to check in.

Grace: I'm glad you found us.

MNOR: let those symptoms be for real!!! I tested positive 7dp6dt and the FRER was very light. Let's hope you just need a little more time. I want this for you so much!!!

SSURRA: I really am pulling for you and this FET!

All of us should have BFPs!!!!

Yeah, it's still early testing-wise. Hopefully I just need another couple days to build up that hcg. Having lots of cramping, stabbing, pinching and pulling down there and I know it can't just be from the transfer at this point. Major headaches and not really dizzy but like a "fogginess". Also, backaches, heartburn, increased CM, cervix rose nice and high, pretty fatigued, sore/itchy tatas and very thirsty. All symptoms I had with my 2 losses so they are fairly promising. Although most can still be attributed to the progesterone.

Ssurra - For the progesterone injections, you can ice for 10 mins before and you will feel the injection less but I found I bruised more that way and was sometimes sore for days. It hurt sometimes just to stand for long periods of time or walk on hard surfaces (like pavement). I didn't mind the initial ouch so I stopped icing and overall was way less sore. If you start getting sore on one side just stay on the other side for a couple days until it feels better. I also found a warm compress for a little bit in the evenings to be a life saver if I got sore.
