Texas- I am not having any symptoms aside from the ones caused by the progesterone and estrogen- which all started before the embryo transfer. I think lots of women don't get clear symptoms. The waiting is so hard, everything with this journey seems to be "wait wait wait"

Hi everyone,

I know this feed has been going on for a week or so. I wondered if it was ok if I joined. This is the first time I've actually added a comment to a group, but have received a lot of comfort reading through stories & successes.

We have been TTC for 14 months. We had our first IUI yesterday, currently 1dpiui. I think I ovulated yesterday because I had ++ cramps in the afternoon/evening.

It's not looking too great for our chances based on yesterday though. Because I was ovulating on my own they decided to try and unmedicated cycle first (despite me wanting to go for the gusto so-to-speak). And randomly my DH sperm count came back really low yesterday right before the transfer. Super bummed. My follicle also wasn't fully "mature", only 16mm. Feeling like this month was a total waste of time and money. :(

Next month I plan on advocating for a medicated cycle. Any thoughts?

Thanks for listening!

Cate.

@Cate - Have you done any timed intercourse cycles? You could do that if you are wanting to spend less money, however you probably don't want to do a ton of medicated cycles either, I could understand if you wanted to skip that.

Hey Ladies,

Cate - I totally understand the frustration. Did they tell you to BD on top of the IUI. Also for your DH you could have him take some vitamins before the next cycle. My DH had a lower count and he started taking magnesium and zinc and the numbers improved. it doesn't help this month but it might make you feel better for next month.

Browni - Yay! I love to hear that your tests are getting darker. I hope you feel better soon.

AFM - I'm 11DPIUI and I broke down and tested this morning. I got the faintest of lines that came up during the 3-5 minutes but it's so faint, I'm worried it's a evap or an indent. I figure I'll test again in the next few days and see if it gets darker.

@Margie - Thanks for your support! We actually have both zinc and Mg at my house--he only takes them when he's feeling sick but I had no idea they can affect sperm count! I'll start him on that today haha. Also--did I read your post right? You got a faint line?? :) Oh also--forgot to answer your question. Yes, they did tell us to BD as well. We had the IUI yesterday they told us to BD last night and again today.

@ WhileI'mWaiting - Yes, we've done a few timed cycles. Our main "issue" is my endometriosis. I have a surgery scheduled for the end of the summer. I have an endometrioma on my right ovary (which according to my research indicates I'm at a stage 3 or 4). So I don't even know that IUI will work. But I don't think we can skip to IVF. I want to try IUI (but medicated) first--and that's what they're recommending. IUI for us is $350 per month, with our medications covered through insurance. IVF is $5900. So....we're not quite able to bite the bullet on that one!

Today I am 10dpo. I have little if none true symptoms. I know I could text now but I also know it would be bfn. Ever get to scared to text? My beta is on Thursday. I am done with iui if this did not work. 6 is my limit. I am wondering about my egg quality.Since my e2 was not that high. This just is so hard. And to make this day better I get to go play hostess to my sister in law baby shower......
