Almost finished my first course of clomid. So far so good with side effects. Main one is hot flashes during the night (sleep through most of it, but I do wake often in the night). I have also had lots of twinges round my ovary area in the mornings and some bloated type feelings as well. Have others experienced this too? I know I am probably being ridiculous, but I worry I will ovulate before they expect and miss it seeing as I am not allowed to BD until after the blood test. Some of the pains are so like ovulation pain! I need to relax...
@stevennmattsmum we didn't tell anyone we were trying until almost a year. I have told close friends and family about our struggles as we were getting a bit down every time we got hassled about "When are you going to have babies" and the more subtle digs. I have only told our parents and my sister that I am starting fertility meds. I might tell more people later.

6 dpo today, went to the Dr. yesterday and my progest levels were 17 so I def ovulated finally. I'm having some symptoms like mild cramping, dizziness, vivid dreams and really thirsty but it may just be the Clomid.
Stevenandmattsmom- My husband and I have been married for over 2 years and started ttc 10 months ago. All of my friends have concieved thier first month.everyone kept asking us when we were going to try so I did tell my close friends when I stopped taking birth control. I was suprised when it didn'thappen right away. Our families have really been asking what we are waiting on and we have just started telling them that we are ttc. The only person that knows I'm taking Clomid is my mom. I'm so tired of everyone asking! I think its so rude. Really hoping we will concieve in the next couple of months!

Stevenandmattsmom, I have only told a few people. My best friend and I share everything, and she was going through fertility problems of her own. (Now she's 23 weeks along w/twins and we've been going through similar treatments, in different cities)
I have a small group of close friends who know. But it's not something I've been broadcasting. Our parents know, but my older brothers don't. I'm sure by now people suspect that there are issues since we don't have a child, yet we moved into a home in a suburb that's known for their schools, and the 3rd bedroom is a place where we have stuck random furniture. If you visit our house, we definitely have something *missing*....

Ughh why can't all this be easier. I'm 6 dpo today and promised myself I would not obsess again this month. But, here I am obsessing AGAIN. It's so hard I don't understand why I can't just blow it off. Hopefully this month may go a bit better. I guess we will see, I have a docs appointment before I take my 4th round of 50mg Clomid to see if it's even working...wish me luck.

ultrasound today. 7 follices - biggest was 16, waiting to hear from dr's office - they suspect one more night of injections, then hcg shot tomorrow, iui on sunday. (We'll see.)
Acupuncture was interesting. I'll be curious to see if it has any effect at all on the process. (I'm trying to maintain a positive attitude while part of me thinks it's all hooey.)
I've been told to eliminate carbs, caffeine, drink a LOT of water, sleep 30 minutes more at night, take 1000mg vitamin c, 1000mg vitamin d3... The plan is for me to go the evening before the iui and go the day of, afterwards. (I can't do that if it's sunday.) She also said that I had to be going to her for 3 months before I would see any real changes. Basically her way of saying - don't yell at me if you don't get pregnant this cycle.
Soooo....again, we'll see.

I was wrong I'm actually 10 dpo today not 7...at least according to my monitor and this website...breast started getting tender yesterday. Not due for AF for another 6-9 days...I fell asleep on my couch after I made dinner last night 3 times. Husband asked if I was OK. Never fallen asleep like that before. I dunno, I'm too afraid to get my hopes up I guess. I do everything I can every month to not go crazy over this but my DH and I are at officially 6 years of trying. It gets harder everyday...Good luck to the rest of you!

Lacey6300, that is a long time to be TTC. I hope iyour sleepiness is a good sign!!!
I am still having hot flashes at night after finishing the clomid the other day. How long does the effect stay around? I started using OPKs yesterday. I will be pleased if they stay negative until I have had my blood test and know if I can BD!!!
It is kind of frustrating knowing that the clomid doesn't actually do anything for your fertility, just helps you ovulate. I was already ovulating, and we did a pretty good job of timing things despite my irregular cycles. This makes me wonder if it will really help at all. However, even if it doesn't this step is required before we are allowed to move on to further interventions. Here's hoping we don't need them. I do NOT like the look of all the things we would have to do it we needed IVF. And I can't imagine how I could keep working if I was going through that. Would eat up my sick leave in a short period of time!!!!

The hot flashes on Clomid lasted the whole time I took the pill and about a day after so about 6 days. I just went to the dollar store and bought a fan to put on my face to help ease the discomfort. My bbs are SUPER tender now...they've gotten worse as the day has gone on. Hopefully I won't be starting AF this early and it's something I can look forward to instead.
