Positive reassurance based on proof from experiences FOR ALL

Before getting to the point...
I can't tell you how many times I see women ask if their spotting is normal, or if their first blood test HCG levels are too low, or if if its normal for their symptoms to come and go. I get very fed up with seeing women answer in any unintended negative way.

This is a very common question I see that I am making up an example to give an idea:
Q - "My HCG levels were 25 at 4 weeks, is this too low?"
A - "Mine were 186,930,909 at 4 weeks, yours does seem low!"
(Yes, the second level has obviously been extremely exaggerated).

Women are asking these questions because they want hope based on actual positive outcomes. They don't want to hear some other woman bragging about their ultra ideal pregnancy, even if they don't intend it to be bragging. It just comes off that way to someone who is worried.

Here is the point of this post finally. To all you women who are stressed about something with your pregnancy (HCG levels, spotting, symptoms, etc) this is your place to ask your questions where you will get reassurance from other women who have had the same experiences and had a positive outcome.

The rules:
1. If you don't have a positive outcome to answer with, do not answer. This is to reassure the asker that things could be or are most likely fine with their pregnancy by providing proof - your experience being that proof.
2. If you are going to ask a question about your pregnancy that you have already had clearly confirmed by a doctor as non-viable, please do not ask a question in here. It would be extremely hard to keep the answers reassuring if the only women that could answer your question based on their similar experience cannot provide any hope.
3. Be respectful. This is a very vulnerable time in any woman's life. Lets try and take this chance to help each other brush off some of that extra stress we just don't need right now!

Based on the most common questions I see in forums I will start with a few questions. Anybody may add additional questions, and please start your post with -Q- if asking a new question so it is not overlooked.

I encourage others to answer the questions I am listing as well that I've already answered with my experience. The more positive outcomes, the more reassurance!

-Q- Are low HCG levels ok?
My answer: YES! As long as they have an adequate doubling time. At 3 weeks and 6 days (based on confirmed pinpointed ovulation) my levels were at a scary low 33. In under 72 hours they more than tripled to 102 and I had a doubling time of 39 hours. A normal doubling time for levels under 1,200 is 30-72 hours. Your levels have nothing to do with it, it's how well they are increasing.

-Q- Is it OK to have spotting?
My answer: It definitely can be! Spotting alone does not mean you will miscarry. The pregnancy I had the most problems with that ended by miscarriage had zero spotting until the actual miscarriage (after levels dropped), and the viable pregnancies had spotting. Please don't read too much into it unless you have some severe pain or it turns into full blown bleeding, but even then it does not always mean you are losing the baby. I bled buckets in a past pregnancy due to a subchorionic hemorrhage, and miscarriage wasn't an issue.

-Q- Can pregnancy symptoms come and go?
I am wondering this one myself, so any women who experienced this with a positive outcome feel free to answer!

Your turn to ask or answer! To all you pregnant ladies: congratulations and I wish you a happy and healthy nine months!

A--yes, it is absolutely normal for sx to come and go.. With my son they were constant but didn't start till I was 7 wks along; with my daughter they began shortly after ovulation and came and went the entire pregnancy.

My turn--
Q- I am 39, given up on the fact that after 11 yrs of ttc and all tests coming back ok for hormones etc, without the resources to seek fertility specialists-- I had 3 days of light spotting on CD 44 in late February then 44 days later I had one day of spotting; 2 wks later on cd 14 we bd'ed--result: 4 days later pink and brown spotting, 2 days later again pink and brown spotting which came on for 4 days--this was random spotting only on the tp and maybe once or twice--so what may have been dpo 10 & 11--no spotting just mild cramps. 12 dpo (?)--pg test in the eve shows very faint line.. is it possible this is due to perimenopause or the sx of? PCOS? The only physical changes I've noticed are bad carpal tunnel sx, tonite I noticed discoloration in my skin (brown patch) above rt eye (I have same discoloration patches on cheeks since having my dd 12 yrs ago) but nothing else.. maybe there are supplements to try??
