Texas - it's not over until it's over. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Basia - you're feelings about not being 100% happy when your friend told you she's pregnant are completely normal. I've gotten to the point where I really can't even be around anyone pregnant because it makes me sad/angry. If this IVF and one possible frozen embryo transfer doesn't work, then I'm done because my husband thinks that's enough and if it doesn't work, it's not meant to be. It's easy for him to think that because he hasn't always wanted to be a mother ever since he can remember.

I'm a planner so I've been working on ways that I'm going to deal with this if motherhood isn't in the cards for me because I'm seriously afraid I'm going to lose my mind. Anyways, my plan is to just be the most awesome childless person ever and find other childless people to befriend. :)

AFM - My IVF meds were delivered yesterday and all of them came in 1 very large box and one medium sized box. There were so many meds that it just made me want to cry because it's not fair that some of us have to go to such ridiculous lengths to have a child and there are drug addicts that have no problem. For any of you wondering for future reference, the total cost of this 1 IVF cycle (including meds and because my insurance doesn't cover anything) was $19,400. My medication injection class is next Friday. Then, my cycle should start the following week and the fun begins...

Essemkay - where are you currently in your conception attempts? How many IVF cycles have you done?

Are any of you other girls getting ready to do IVF?

Lulu82, I've done 3 fresh IVFs (never did a FET, never had any embryos qualify for freezing), 5 medicated IUIs, and 3 unmedicated IUIs. At the moment, we're trying unassisted, although my OB said if my bloodwork came back with a measurable AMH (I'm old, so it's bound to be nearly zero), he'd stim me. My RE is done with me unless we do donor eggs and my husband won't - at least not yet - agree to that. They called me yesterday to tell me that the results aren't in yet. So I'm on pins and needles.

We're unexplained, but I'm now of "advanced maternal age." We've had 7 miscarriages/chemicals, 1 missed miscarriage at 10.5 weeks, and one perfect baby girl.

Me: 45, unexplained (but now ancient) Husband: 46 (perfect in every way) Married 21 years 1 daughter born 07/2011 after TTC for 12 years

@Lulu - do you have any interest in embryo adoption or other types of adoption? I'm sorry this has been such a hard journey for you. )-:

@Basia - It can be so hard when friends get pregnant. )-: Boo. Give yourself some time. I hope she is sensitive to you and your journey.

AFM, I am 10 DPO, BFN, so I'm feeling out. Expecting AF maybe Monday or Tuesday, and then we start our first IUI cycle. EEK!!!!

Essemkay-I'm so sorry for your situation. I can imagine how frustrating it is for you! you've been through so much!!

While- My husband doesn't want to do any kind of adoption. It took me two years to get him on board with the idea of IVF. He gets ideas in his head and then they're almost impossible to get out of there. He's afraid we would end up with the literal spawn of satan like in the Omen movies. A year ago, we got a dog to try to help us not feel so bad about the fertility struggles and she is just the best and we treat her like she's our actual child. I always try to tell him that we adopted her and she's not even of the same species and we love her like our own, but he still won't go for it. Will you consider adoption if nothing else works? In the meantime, I will keep my fingers crossed that you won't need that 1st IUI!

Hey ladies- I had an ultrasound today and they told me my endo lining was 6mm. Anyone know if that's good or bad?

@texasgirl- just tested again and BFN. )-: so I'm really thinking I'm out for this month.

@basia- yes! DH and I actually have an adopted DD that is almost 22 years old. It's a cool story- she moved in with us her senior year of high school in 2010, and the rest is history. She got married in August and just graduated from college in December. (-: my husband was adopted at three weeks old, too! Adoption is definitely on the table for us but I'm not quite ready to give up on biological options yet. I think my next step will be embryo adoption and trying on our own some more.

@browni- I'm not sure- did they say anything? The other ladies here will have more experience with that, although I will be having my ultrasound likely next week!

K
