Baby aspirin after having two or more previous miscarriages?

Category: After a Positive - Early Pregnancy Chatter

Hi ladies,

On May 10th, I finally got a BFP. I've had two previous miscarriages, one needing a D/C. I've been doing tons of reading, regarding women that have taken baby aspirin to thin their blood and prevent clotting in the placenta. I know I should speak to my OB, but I have read SO many positive things about this. And by the way, I'm only 20... We aren't trying, nor are we preventing, but I don't want to lose another pregnancy. Any advice would be wonderful. Thanks!

You can get a blood test to see if you have clotting issues. I've read that it doesn't harm anything if you take baby asprin, but I'd personally go in and get whole blood workup done.

I also suggest having your progesterone tested. I've had 4 m/c and a couple were due to low progesterone. Progesterone is what keeps the baby alive until the placenta takes over at about 12-14 wks.
