Who wants to get Sept BFP's!! After trying for a few months.

Hi Everyone!

I am trying to muster up any confidence I have left at this point and feeling very discouraged do to our situation. In comparison to some ladies I know I am not as bad but still feeling down from last month and the prior 6 months total as well. Me and my husband have been trying since beg March this year and we are both healthy and young enough to start a family but no luck yet. I have connected with some ladies and it seems everyone of them has gotten a BFP on their first try or so and I would like to hear from those of you who are in my position where you are still trying and its just taking longer. I am looking for some support and stories about your journey so far and what you think of timing and any other methods you have been following. I'm interested to hear your thoughts now that we've all been at it for a while. What do you beleive in and what are you not going to try anymore?

For us, we tried for about 2 months the normal way just with me taking prenatals and not really understanding the timing of the O day and OPK's or anything like that. After that I researched about those things and figured out what timing was better than others and started using OPK's just to pin point my days, however, I have always been on a solid schedule of 26 day cycles and I know when AF comes each month so I'm not sure how much that has really helped me honestly. I also logged my BBT for a month and it felt more stressful than I think it should and it didn't help me really so I stopped that too. Now that we have passed the 6 month mark, I am scheduled to go to the fertility doctor and see what they can tell me or test for incase there is a bigger problem going on. I feel we have timed everything right for at least 3 or 4 months now and nothing ever changes. I even had my DH do a home test that came out positive for being at least at a normal sperm count.

So, what are your thoughts? What's your story? How long have you been TTC and what are going to do from this point on different?

I can't wait to hear from you! I need to know I'm not alone in this!

@TSIMMONS - Thanks for the info :) I had no idea and when I got home today, for fun I asked my DH if he knew what IUI stood for or meant and he got it right! I said "why do u know this stuff?" lol he's kind of a nerd and he always says he has all sorts of random facts ha ha :) I go tomorrow to see the specialist so I will hopefully get info on a lot of the treatments too. Thanks!

Keep me informed your news!

@krunchie29 - OMG your journey has been so long and scary! :( You must be very strong as well since your still going! Did u get your call yet? I hope your prayers are met after the long journey you have been on....

Hey there! Here is my story:

We've been trying for 7 months with no luck either.. It feels like forever!! My partner is 30 and I am 26 so we should be in the 'optimal fertility' bracket.. I really thought it would happen right away :(

So this cycle has me stumped - I am at least 13 dpo (possibly more) and still BFN.. Every cycle I am spotting by 11dpo with full AF by 13dpo.. Not even feeling like getting AF now - just some light cramps the last week or so. I am praying praying praying that we are pregnant but also feeling incredibly gutted that I am getting BFNs again this month.

I need some coping strategies big time!! So please share if you have any :)

We have been trying for 18 months. Timing is the most important thing you can do. I have been ovulating erratically , if at all, so timing has been impossible for me. I'm now on clomid which induces ovulation and regulates cycle length , so am able to accurately time bd and really 'try' for the first time!

@mznik85 - We are the exact same almost with your story. September will be our 7th month of trying and even though we both feel like we are timing everything right we still are getting BFN's too... I hate those!! :( I am on DPO 13 today and supposed to get my AF today too so we will see. I did test last night although I didn't have alot to put on the test I still got a solid BFN. I don't spot usually though not until the day my AF shows up but I understand when you don't "feel" pregnant or have any symptoms after a certain point usually around 10 DPO or so for me. My boobs hurt big time today altough I know I'm not preg which pisses me off more since I hate any symptoms disguising itself as something more. ugh.

I am 29 and will be turning 30 in October this year and so is my husband in January so we both feel like we are in the "optimal fertility" bracket as well and we are both in Good health for the most part. There shouldn't be issues and I don't know why my body just won't kick in to gear already!! I feel your pain obviously.

My only coping advice is to try to not even think about what day it is and try not to stress about it and try to trust your body because people say that it will know when it's ready. Sort of corny by "when all the stars align (your body is in the best preparation possible) and a good egg comes along it will happen". My other coping is that I try to spend way less money on tests both OPK & HPT tests since mine are not the cheapos really so I try to only use 2 OPK's a month as I usually know exactly when my spike will happen most of the time and my cycle is like clock work 26 day cycles. I only try to use between 2-3 HPT tests each month as well and start testing around 11DPO or so. This saves money so at least I don't feel like I'm wasting a bunch for no reason. ugh.

I go to see the fertility specialist today to try and rule out some issues I may have although I don't know what that would be but I mine as well check now even if we haven't waited the normal "year of trying" before seeing someone. I don't want to get my hopes up each month anymore if there is some underlining problem that will prevent me from getting preg.

What kind of methods are you using? Do chart at all? Do you use preseed or any timing products?

@Joinourclub - That's exciting you are able to now regulate your cycle for timing. :) So this month! How far you in your cycle now since starting clomid?
I didn't know what clomid was for. I knew it had something to do with ovulation but I wasn't sure what. One of the main questions I still have is I wonder if just because my OPK says positive and my chart even spikes if I am really producing an egg or not. I don't know if that is even possible though. Do you know? Did you get a bunch of tests done before you started clomid? What kind of methods were you using before? Are you in any kind of higher bracket of risk or chance at all due to health issues or age etc?

Waiting for my...evil unfortunately today :(

Hi, we have been trying for 3 and a half years now. I did have a missed miscarriage in May 2011 but nothing since.
May 2012 we started seeing the consultant at the infertility clinic and after all of the tests it turns out I don't ovulate.
My womb is ok, tubes are clear and my husbands sperm have also been given the A-OK.
This cycle I started Clomid, 50mg a day from cycle day 2-6 so I am having more blood tests to see if the Clomid works haha

Welcome elle :) - 3 and a half years! Wow! What made you wait until May this year to get checked out? Are you both fairly young and healthy with no other health problems? How did you find out you don't ovulate? Did all signs point to you ovulating before you found out you don't? I hope you also get lucky finally this month too. What tests are they running to see if Clomid will work for you?

I already have a child with my Husband and we are both young and healthy. Our 1st child only took 4 months to conceive. So the doctors just kept sending me away saying to keep trying.

Well where to begin haha I will go with the start:

In April '07 I got pregnant and gave birth in January '08
January '09 I was late for my period, I wasn't pregnant but we decided to start trying for #2.
Nothing happened... I went to see my doctor in 2010 who sent me for a scan to rule out PCOS as my periods were irregular. I did not have PCOS so we were told to keep trying.
Feb 2011 - I got pregnant! woooo!
May 2011 - I had the scan at 13 weeks and was told I had a missed miscarriage.
Doctors said because I had now been pregnant I wouldn't be eligible to see the infertility clinic til we had TTC for another 12 months without a pregnancy.
May 2012 and 0 pregnancies later my doctor FINALLY referred us to the infertility clinic.
They did a scan, blood test for my ovarian reserve, blood tests to check ovulation a semen analysis on my husband and an HSG test where they inject dye through your womb and tubes to check for blockages.
August 2012 - all results came back fine aside from me not ovulating so they started me on 50mg clomid on days 2-6.
To see if I ovulate they are doing blood tests on days 21,28 &35 to check the progesterone level.
I also have a scan on CD18 but they haven't actually told me what it's for.

Hi Elle, Phew!!! Thanks for the info! I really wanted to know the steps of everything so I understand everything better and now I get it! It's wierd that a doctor could tell you no to see a specialist if that's what you really want to do. Kinda crazy someone could do that to you but I guess because you were pregnant twice before its understandable. It seems now they should have done the tests back in 2011 when you wanted to if it seems now you don't ovulate. I hope that Clomid is the key to your success and I send you tons of in the mean time!

I will let you know what they say to me today as well. i'm nervous!

good luck mrsaskew!

Yeah it's crazy they have had me wait so long, luckily I am young so I have time on my side but it is disappointing my 1st child has grown up without a sibling and is starting school in September. Even if I do get pregnant soon there will be a 5yr+ age gap :/

I am very lucky to have one child, perhaps it will stay that way

HI MrsAskew11!
I am also on 12DPO and have taken several pregnancy tests- all BFN. I am supposed to see AF either today or tomorrow and am thinking that it is very probable that she will be making an appearance. :( Been trying for a few months but really only tracking O the last couple. I turned 38 in June and told DH a while ago that I wanted to be 38 when I had a baby. Not that he or I have much say so but I am down to my last month to make that wish come true. I conceived my daughter almost 10 years ago and seemed so much easier then! I really felt like it would be this month- thought I had signs/symptoms- BD right when supposed to, etc but I am really doubtful now. Soooo here is to hoping that I will have a Sept BFP!!
