Can you still get pregnant with LPD (luteal phase defect)?
Hi, everyone! I'm currently on my 2nd cycle of TTC. I have been tracking my period for several months though. My cycles are usually 23 days long, ovulating very late around CD 18. My LP is 4-6 days at most depending on the month. I'm currently on CD 24, 6dpo. I'm actually beyond surprised I'm on CD 24 and AF hasn't showed yet. I'm really hoping my cycle gets longer because I've heard it's extremely hard to conceive with a LP any shorter than 10 days, that it should really be about 14-16 days long. With mine being 4-6, that's really concerning for me due to the fact I'm only 18, and also suffer from endometriosis. Do you ladies know any tips or tricks to make my LP longer? Or have you or anyone you know conceived with short LPs? Is it even possible? Thanks so much!

Hi,
It is possible to conceive with a lp defect, I have. My defect was not detected until I had two losses. I miscarried my third pregnancy while on Crinone(progesterone). With my pregnancy with my son I was on prometrium (progesterone) from the day a positive pregnancy test. With my only successful full term pregnancy I was taking 81 mg baby aspirin, additional folic acid and a prenatal. Some doctors prefer to start progesterone at ovulation since it helps to create a good thick lining for the baby to implant too while some say at a positive hpt.Unfortunately most people with a defect need some additional hormone supplementation. I've heard that b6 vitamins can help to lengthen the luteal phase naturally I personally have never tried this. Best of luck!
