Period 6 days late then major bleeding

Me and hubby have been trying for 4 years to start a family with out any success. I was 6 days late with no cramps or anything. I was so excited but wanted to wait as long as possible to test. On Saturday morning my lower back stated cramping so bad on the way to work. I started bleeding heavy and by the time I got home I had filled 2 pads. By Sunday I noticed there was very large clots and the smacked the water tmi sorry. What does this mean I'm too nervous to even take a test. I'm sure if we were then its gone now right
