Why am I spotting a week before my period? Is it implantation bleeding?

Ok so I am 29 and I have 5 kids. We have definitely not been trying to get pregnant but haven't done a whole lot to prevent it either. When trying to get pregnant with our last baby it took us almost 3 years and he only has 1 working testicle so I guess we didn't think it was something we had to worry about much. Anyway I haven't really been keeping up with periods other than I know if I haven't started by the 27th I get spooked and I know I had my period like usual last month (usual for me anyway) so I knew to expect it anywhere from the 23th to the 27th and then yesterday (the 17th) I went to the restroom and had brown blood when I wiped it lasted for the rest of yesterday but was never even heavy enough for a panty liner so then today I have seen a very very light pink spot here and there when I wipe. Is this implantation bleeding? Am I pregnant? Help!!! Never experienced this. Test says negative but thinking since I'm not due for another week that could be why...right?
