Someone please give me advice or even just hope

We have been trying to conceive for almost 2 years. I have two children from a previous relationship who are now 10 and 9. I am 31 and my partner 32 (he has no children). We went to a fertility clinic and were told that there's nothing obviously wrong with either of us.
Since then I've had two early positive tests but my period always comes on time.
This month we did everything right on I didn't feel ovulation (I usually have horrendous ovulation pain). And about 5 days after ovulation (confirmed by opt) my boobs have been very sore, cramps in back and lower abdomen. Flushed face and an elevated basal temp. But today? None of that apart from sore boobs but I know that can just be pmt. Took a test and it was negative. (Period due in 4 days)
Cried.

I'm just so disheartened. Waiting for AF to make an appearance.
Can anyone relate or give me hope?
