I am 4 weeks pregnant and I'm a heavy smoker
I have reduced the cigarette smoking exponentially, but it's just very difficult for me to quit. I smoke dunhill (8 mg TAR), from smoking almost one pack per day (almost twenty cigarettes) now I only smoke maximum 2 or three per day. That is a big improvement, is it possible to keep it this way throughout my pregnancy or do I really have to quit for good? I heard the first trimester is the most critical so I am a bit worried about this.

U've come that far, why not quit completely?! Of course, any reduction is better than nothing, but quitting completely is best. I would seriously consider dropping those last 2 or 3 cigs and quitting for good. It's not easy, but it's worth it.
When I got preg with my 1st, I was a pack (25) a day smoker. I cut to half the day after my BFP, and quit completely the day after that. It wasn't easy! There was A LOT of crying and mood swings, but I was determined not to force my child to suffer with MY addiction. After a cpl weeks, it got much easier. By the second trimester, it was all a thing of the past and I was able to enjoy my pregnancy.
Good luck with whatever route u take. Just remember, ur not the only one taking that route! U CAN do this!! =))

former smoker here - 2 years smoke free. DO IT FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR CHILD! You can do it, you can do anything you put your mind too, essentially. You will feel so much better for it, and your lifestyle will completely change - for the better! Consider quitting, or at least give it your best shot! Good luck!
