Cycle changes after pregnancy or birth control?

I had my son almost 3 years ago, and when I got pregnant with him I was tracking my cycles, and was ovulating around day 20 of a 32-34 day cycle. After he was born I had an iud put in, and it has been out now for about a month and a half, which has been 1 full cycle. I have been using opks this month just to establish a cycle, and I noticed that my test on day 13 was quite dark. I've been taking them since, and they have all been very negative. Now I'm on day 18, when I would EXPECT it to be positive, and it's not! Has anyone else experiences a major cycle change after a baby or prolonged use of birth control?
