is my BBT expected to raise while on Progesterone supplements?

My BBT was very erratic this cycle and I didn't get a positive OPK so only CD 24 my doctor drew blood and determined i had not ovulated and she wanted to induce a period by putting me on progesterone. It was my understanding that progesterone is what cause out BBT to go up. The first day i took the Progesterone supplement my BBT went up but then the next day it went back down and is staying low... ive been on progesterone for 6 days now. Is this expected? if not what could be a possible cause
