20 DPO HPT not getting darker?

Hi!

I am 20 DPO and I have taken several HPT all of which have come back positive but a week later they are still the same (not getting darker). You can clearly see lines but they are not progressing. I am spotting light brown but nothing concerning. Anyone else experience their lines getting darker but everything was actually okay. I will probably call my doctor tomorrow to see if I can get my blood drawn.

Some of the early detection tests have a maximum limit of hcg that they can cope with, and they can actually appear paler if they are overloaded. I would try again with a test designed to detect levels of 50mIU, using fmu and see if you get a stronger line.

while too much HcG can apparently give false negatives (Google the hook effect) it's very rare. Definitely go visit to your doctor, as low or very slowly increasing levels of HcG can also be an indicator of an ectopic pregnancy.
