Question

My DH just found out he has a low sperm count. Does anyone have any advice for this?

How long did it take for things to start looking better? Im so scared things won't work properly and it won't happen for us I'm just looking for some hope I guess.

Depends on how low it is. Anything under 20 million is considered low but different levels have different success rates. 10-20 million is moderately low and will still give you a chance of conceiving naturally or a fairly high success rate with IUI. 5-10 million is very low and your chances of conceiving naturally are very low and even success with IUI is not that great but possible. Under 5 million is extremely low and you would likely have to use IVF. My hubby has a count between 1.5-6 million depending on the day and we tried for almost 7 years and were finally successful with IVF.

My hubby has a count of 1.5 million/ml. Over the course of 6 months he stopped drinking, sat at table with laptop, changed his undercrackers, took wellman preconception vitamins and lost 4 stone. A great achievement, but for us did nothing with the count, his testosterone and genetic testing came back fine.
For us it's unexplained, We started the cycle drugs last week.
That said, we have never stopped trying to make improvements and never given up hope. Don't give up hope, it's a value able thing with the right amount of realism.
