41 and looking for ways to improve egg quality for next cycle of IVF. Any advice?
I have been doing some checking around online and it seems a lot of sites recommend CoQ10 as a way to improve egg quality in older wannabe mom's. I would like to know if anyone ?has tried it and what results they experienced. First round IVF failed with transfer of 2 blastocysts 5 days post retrieval and those were the only 2 out of the 4 that fertilized to make it to blastocysts stage. Primary ?diagnosis is PCOS and DH has low motility. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

CoQ10 (ubiquinone) is good, but if u can afford to upgrade, look for Ubiquinol. Its a better version (reduced form) of ubiquinone and more absorable...but it's also way more expensive. The dosage is about half of that of CoQ10. If u wanna go all out, load up on antioxidants. Vitamin E, selenium, zinc, vitamin C, drink green tea (watch how much u drink, it's high in vitamin c and high vit c doses can induce a bleed), pycnogenol, grapeseed...the list is endless. U dont have to take them all, do some research on which might interest u, affordability etc and pick one/some. They all do similar things, but in different ways.
Basically, u wanna hit the antioxidants hard. They'll def help clean up the eggs u'll be poppin' 3 months from now. Sorry ur IVF didn't work out...stay positive, only look forward!!
Best of luck! =))

I agree with Sandy. Def give Ubiquinol a try 600 mg daily, taken in 3 doses (200 mg each) for you and hubby. Check out l- arginine, excellent for both of you as well. I also recommend pomegranate juice, beetjuice, nettle leaf tea, wheatgrass, brazilnuts (high in selenium), fishoil, and royal jelly. As said before, do some research and include hubby; in order to create high-quality embryos you need excellent eggs and healthy sperm. FX for your next attempt!
