Spotting After Pap

I had my annual check up May 9th which included a breast exam and pap. On May 10th I experienced spotting and thought nothing of it because it's common. Right? It's now two weeks later and I'm still spotting. My cycles are pretty normal. On occasion I will have my cycle twice a month but my doctor says it's normal. I'll be 40 yrs old in a few weeks and she says I'm producing more eggs. Other than that my cycle is expected tomorrow.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Is this something I should be alarmed by?
