Question

Have u ever had an early ultrasound not show anything but later went back and seen the baby?

I am currently pregnant by lmp i would be 7weeks today april 3rd was lmp. but i know thats wrong . i got first faint bfp on may 15th and on 16th i had pregnancy confirmed at er and hcg was at 54. On may 14th and before i got negative hpts so i know i ovulated late. Today i went for first drs appt and they did ultrasound because i have had a miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy in past. U/s tech didnt see anything on ultrasound and said im too early for anything to show. Im not bleeding or in pain and have sore boobs nausea and threw up a few times dr did another hcg count and now im awaiting results on wednesday. My question is have u had an early ultrasound and didnt see anything and then go back and then see the baby? Im very scared of what might happen and i just want some hope that its just too early to see anything....... Anyone have this issue and have a healthy baby?content://media/external/file/9416.

At 7 weeks you should definitely be seeing baby on an ultrasound. Over had early scans with all 3 of my children and see baby and a heartbeat by that stage. Have they scheduled you for a follow up scan?

I know for sure im not 7 weeks even dr said so .when i had hcg drawn i was suppose to be 6 weeks and hcg was only 54 and i was 2 weeks late for af negative hpts until may 15th. Dr is gonna do another ultrasound as long as hcg has gone up. Did hcg today dr said if his calculations is right my hcg should only be in 800s may 16th was 54

This is super common. I'm in some due date groups and there were even women at 7-8 weeks that weren't showing anything and a few weeks later there was baby with a heartbeat. Some of them were even a month behind what they thought they were and most are close to 20 weeks now.

My honest opinion no. The only time I've not seen anything is because the pregnancy hasn't carried on. At 5 weeks I could see a sac. But i hope and pray that you are different and get good news I really do. There are always postive stories and I could give you false hope but sometimes it's best to be honest

in my clinic they would not even attempt an ultrasound before hcg reaches at least 1500 - some clinics even say you need 2000 to see anything at all. that's usually c. 2 weeks after the positive test, so for you would be may 30.
