Potential pregnancy while breastfeeding

I am 9 months pp and have not had a period since son was born. I was taking the mini pill while i was breastfeed. I slowly weaned my son and officially stopped over a month ago and went on the regular pill right away. I just finished my first month on the pill and im on day 4 of.the sugar pill and no period still. I did a pregnancy test before i started the pill to make sure cause i hadnt had a period but i still haven't gotten one on the normal pill. Will it take a while for the pill to start working for my period to come or should i start to worry.
