Heartbroken, hopeful, HELP.
I've been TTC for a good 2 and a half years at this point.
A little backround- I have a 7, almost 8 year old son. I had him at 19. Almost 3 years ago now I removed my Mirena and decided I'd let fate take control and if I became pregnant great, if not, I wasn't 'trying' anyways. For the last two years I've tracked AF, BD'd very regularly to cover all bases if I had my ovulation tracked incorrectly. I went to see a doctor who would not prescribe me clomid without doing several other expensive tests before. They did a standard check up and things looked fine.
I'm so frustrated and I try to not add stress to the mixture making it even more of a feat to get pregnant. Any advice, kind words, or hopeful stories you could share with me at this point would be truly a god send.
I am approaching another ovulation and with all of my heart I pray this is my month... what would be more perfect than telling my fiancé he's going to be a dad on fathers day.

I think you should see another doctor. After TTC for more than 2 years with no luck, I can't imagine why your doctor wouldn't prescribe Clomid. Unless you have some other medical condition where Clomid could be dangerous (no idea if that's even a thing, just trying to play Devil's Advocate)? A second opinion can't hurt! Good luck! I hope this is your month!

I agree, several friends and family have suggested the same that perhaps it was just the doctor as I do not have any medical issues to speak of that would justify his hesitance of prescribing clomid for me. I guess it took so much for me to work up the nerve to go in the first place, because I wanted to just let everything happen naturally. It makes it hard after a negative experience to go back. It felt as though he didn't 'believe' that i'd been trying for over 2 years and assumed I just had tried one month and ran straight to the doctor- i wish that was the case lol. He made me feel as if I was over reacting and worried for no apparent reason- though i'd say after nearly 3 years of unprotected sex with no pregnancy I fully believe there is something to be concerned about.
Thank you for your input, it is very much appreciated.

I feel the same way, I had my first at 23, he is 5 years old now. We have been ttc for 2 years and I even took duphaston pills to regulate my period. We haven't tried anything else. I'll be 29 next year and I'm afraid my chances will start slimming down as I get older. I did an internal ultrasound before and saw that I do have an egg and am ovulating. My husband says we will see a doctor next month and he'll do a semen analysis.
I do think there is no harm in getting a 2nd opinion. I love my doctor and she makes me feel at ease every time I see her. She gives practical and logical solutions which I like. She also doesn't sugar coat.
I hope you get your baby # 2! good luck!
