Thoughts about Clearblue Advanced OV Test
I've been using the cheap Walmart Equate ovulation tests since TTC but this month DH and I are getting serious so I thought I better buy tests that are more trust worthy. So I bought Clearblue Advanced and I am currently on CD 12 and it looks like it's getting pretty darker today than yesterday yet I still have a solid circle instead of a flashing smiley. My cycles are pretty regular so I know I should be ovulating on CD 14 maybe give or take a day. Anyone else have any issues or is that about normal for these tests? If you can, take a look at my ovulation tests from yesterday to today. I definitely appreciate any comments, opinions, or suggestions.
Thanks

It looks like a definite negative, so far. These tests read 2 hormones, so each line has to be a specific darkness for the reader to consider it a high (flashing smiley) or peak (solid smiley). Try dipping the test then laying it flat for a minute or two before feeding the reader. This allows time for the dye to settle in the lines, and not pool or smear anywhere (dye runs will cause false readings). That test is a definite low tho. I have a few cycles of these up in my pics if u want an idea of how they look from low to peak. It helps to learn how to read them in case the reader effs up.
Good luck! =))

Thanks Dakotagurrl! I definitely will try waiting a min or 2 before inserting it into the reader. How many times a day did you test with these? I'm wanting to do twice a day but these are super expensive so I want to wait as long as I can using one till I start noticing a BIG difference.

I had these and some cheapies from ebay. I used the cheapies a cpl times a day and these once. Once I got very obvious signs like ewcm and achey/crampy ovaries, I'd use these twice a day (only if my cheapie opk's were looking dark). Here's the awesome part, some don't like it, but to each their own. I bought my CB on ebay, and they were expired. My tests were a year or more past the expiry date, so I was able to buy 90 of 'em for the price of a 30 box (CB fertility monitor sticks...they're the exact same as these but don't come with a reader). If u can take that route, u'll save a chunk of cash and have the freedom to test as often as u want (provided u learn to read them w/o the reader...it's easy, no worries). Some women don't like buying expired tests for fear of missing the surge, but tbh, I've been doing it since 2012 and have yet to miss anything. Ur call with that one tho. Some 20miu cheapies will def make it easier on the bank accnt as far as testing goes.
