Confused ???? I'm several days late but test yesterday was negative. Could I be pregnant or am I out

My period last month came early (was only a 23cycle) and lasted longer than usual. I had on and off lighting/mediumish bleeding. Well this month keeps feeling like I'm about to start and I haven't yet. Was supposed to start last Thursday . Took test yesterday and was negative. Still cramping near ovaries. So am I out or what?

Are you basing your start date on your normal number of cycle days or 23 days because that is when it came last month?

I base it on the average number of my cycle days. I use an app to keep track of it.
