Why doctor prescribed naturogest 200mg

I m pcod patient....and I m willing to conceive ...dr prescribed me NATUROGEST 200mg...and she asked the tablet should not be taken before and after intercourse...my question is why dr prescribed me that one and what is the use of it pls reply me...thank y

well normally progesterone (duphaston) is prescribed to support the luteal phase, so for several days after the ovulation.
women with luteal phase deficiency are sometimes told to take progesterone from after the ovulation until the positive test or even longer, till placenta takes over.
pcos is different as you probably have too much estrogen - progesterone can neutralize that. maybe with pcos you also do not ovulate regularly. progesterone taken for 7 days will then make you get your period and then you can start with p.e. clomid or whatever the doctor prescribes to stimulate ovulation.
